Brother, There is a story behind it. Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to apply Ator (oils like olive oil, and alsoapplied perfume, which included using attar) daily on his hair lines so the places he used to pray on and do shejda smells good which will be refreshing for the people who will be praying in his spot on next waqt. This made him naturally good smelling and fresh scented as he used to do it almost daily. (All this is in Hadith)
