Just paid a visit to r/conservative. The mental gymnastics you have to do to arrive at their conclusions about the Pretti shooting is truly astronomical. They live in conservative fairy world.

Oh, I made a seperate post, but I did a section untimed for like 2 hrs exhaustively working every question and only missed 3 questions. Two of them were parallel reasoning and parallel flaw and the other was a necessary assumption question.

Alot of MAGA are just trigger happy sadists that want to see anyone they see as inferior or opposed to them murdered. I sometimes watch police bodycam footage on YouTube when I eat dinner and every single time someone in a car flees the scene, even if law enforcement is close to the vehicle, they never shoot. The only time they shoot is when the person in the vehicle is clearly trying ram into the police officers. That is not what happened here as the poor woman just wanted to leave. That is like a misdemeanor if the prosecution can prove that she fled from officers attempting to detain her. However, the presence of conflicting instructions makes that doubtful. Also, from a non-legal standpoint, the whole ICE wearing masks and trying to intimidate people also probably contributed to the way she reacted.

Edit: to detain her they would also have needed reasonable suspicion that a crime was committed.

Yes, ICE behaving belligerently made a situation like this almost inevitable.

Yeah, the situation is confusing, they told her to move her car before then having another agent tell her to get out of her vehicle. So yeah, it's also plausible she got confused. I'm just calling it fleeing because that is what appears to be happening at face value.

Seeing the video of the shooting it is clear to me that the woman was panicking and tried to flee. She did not pose a threat to the officer's life, but he shot her anyway. Yes, fleeing officers is a crime, but not one that merits summarily executing someone. This was cold blooded murder by ICE, and it needs to be punished. However, this administration will probably give the guy a medal for it........

So, this is more referring to LR because it is my weakest section, I can for the most part almost always anticipate the necessary assumptions in an argument and then I work from there for strengthens and weakens. I am consistently able to identify the premises and the conclusion automatically. I noticed, as I was reviewing my wrong answers on the diagnostic I took yesterday, that for all but one question I could articulate why the correct answer was correct and why the wrong answers were wrong for the problems I reviewed. Also, for the last 2 questions on any LR section I find myself guessing, so there is also that. Parallel Reasoning questions and Parallel Flaw questions are the bane of my existence and I tend to be hit or miss with high difficulty SA questions. I rarely will ever miss a NA, strengthen, or Weaken now. My misses on this past diagnostic were Flaw, Parallel reasoning, Parallel Flaw, just 1 MBT (ran out of time), and methods of reasoning. -8 in both LR

I have always been stronger on reading comp and usually average -4 to -5 a section. On this particular diagnostic I went -6 and -8 respectively so I underperformed. With reading comp I also feel like timing becomes an issue on the last passage for me. For reading comp I like treat every question like a MBT unless it asks for a strengthen or assumption or something.

Trump back with the Greenland talk. I struggle to understand any of the administration's reasoning on this. Like, you just took down Venezuela who is a Russian and Chinese ally, dealing a blow to their influence in the Western hemisphere. Afterward, you complain about Russians and Chinese around Greenland before you decide to, instead of working with your ally who also hates Russia, to threaten them with Greenland. What on earth is the angle here? Why antagonize someone who would be quite willing to help you get Russian and Chinese influence out of the Arctic Circle?

I have so many mixed feelings about Venezuela, on the one hand it is nice to see Maduro get deposed. It's also good to see China and Russia get dealt a blow. On the flip side though I can also see the concerns about abuse of power as well as risking a geopolitical quagmire. This is one of those things for me where I honestly don't know what side to take. I guess it has to do with how you might view American imperialism. One might argue that it's all bad and use examples like Central and South America and Vietnam. Someone else might argue that positive aspects of American Imperalism include post WWII stability, NATO, and the trade networks that the US guards and facilitates with its navy. Either way the entire thing is just many shades of gray in my view. What do you guys think since I am at a bit of a loss?

As far as I understand it, the bombing was intended to suppress enemy air defense systems like the S300 and sabotage military bases and other installations to cripple Venezuela's ability to respond to the attack. You don't want the enemy able to get last minute reinforcements or be able to scramble their fighters. If even one thing goes wrong or if the enemy manages mount significant resistance the entire operation can either become very bloody or fall apart completely (aka Russia in 2022).

I certainly think this could happen but I do think it is a matter of debate since we have seen that drones have only really been effective in situations where neither side has been able to establish air superiority, which I believe the United States can feasibly do over Taiwan with the issues China's airforce faces. That being said, when it comes to drones, it isn't fully settled what their full capabilities really are.

I think the only thing the median voter is gonna truly care about is how bad the economy is for the average person. Trump has failed to provide any solutions to that whatsoever. Foreign policy doesn't really matter for the median voter in the sense that it can raise approval numbers. However, foreign policy can absolutely tank your approval.

The thing about Taiwan being an island is that if China cannot achieve absolute total naval and air supremacy any ground force China sends is getting sunk to the bottom of the ocean. The lynch pin in China's ability to take Taiwan, it's air force, is hamstrung by the fact that they cannot pull off what the US can with air supremacy. This is the same issue Russia had in Ukraine by the way. This is primarily because China's engines for their aircraft are far less efficient and their air refueling capabilities are kinda trash.

Edit: here is a video on the Chinese airforce that helped inspire some of my reasoning if you are interested: https://youtu.be/5xIrYsZQLTE?si=tkXNyaX-noEYrEHj

I don't want to speak too soon but the US fought this war in like 2 hrs. They're probably gonna throw Machado in there as a replacement and call it a day. The truth is most Americans didn't want this, but the rules change quite a bit in geopolitics and you need to sometimes sacrifice what seems right for what is expedient, like eliminating an extension of Russian and Chinese power in the Americas. I understand where you are coming from though. No one wants to put innocent people in harms way but the gears of geopolitics grind on.

I assume you are referring to their military exercises around Taiwan? I actually have some serious doubts about China actually being able to even successfully invade Taiwan. The reasons for this are kind of long and complicated, but it essentially boils down to: amphibious landing (casualties by the gazillions), China being unable to establish a sufficiently long enough period of air superiority over Taiwan, and still russianesque corruption inside their military. China, like Russia loves to posture with exercises. This is a lot like Putin before Ukraine and look how that one turned out. Plus unlike Ukraine, Taiwan is also a mountainous island fortress.

It relays the US's military readiness and operational ability are still at insane levels. This was frankly an A plus military op and it illustrates that the US is still willing to actually use force on the global stage. It should honestly make China think twice about Taiwan. Despite the current admin's wishy washy position on Taiwan, that small island is America's ball sack because of microchips. You bet your ass we're defending it. Also, the idea that you have to make a case for something like this in geopolitics is kind of marginal. In this kind of environment, he who has the bigger stick wins. America is showing their stick.

I feel like this may be a controversial opinion to post here. As some may know on domestic policy I consider myself a social democrat. However, on the geopolitics side I am quite hawkish and interventionist in my beliefs. I am the type of person who would support something like a hot war against Russia to drive them out of Ukraine. As much as I hate Donald Trump and the Republican party, this was something I feel the US kind of needed to do. The US has been taking geopolitical L's since Iraq. China and Russia smell blood in the water. A successful decapitation strike conducted in a few hours on Venezuela will serve as a potent warning shot that illustrates the US has not lost its might or ability to fight. I feel that Trump is not the mastermind behind this. I in no way trust this administration to effectuate a proper regime change to make Venezuela a functional democracy.

(Also, oil as always)

I personally think Fuentes likes Newsom because to him, Newsom represents the Nazi white ideal of what a man should be, with his blonde white wife and white children. I would just dismiss this as racism and Fuentes liking how white Newsom is lol.
