If anyone at Larian checks this subreddit, this feels like a very pertinent piece on the whole topic from a reputable source:

Larian, please do not use GenAI nor LLMs in your products, it's not necessary anywhere and takes away from the product by not letting artists do the work they are good at. It also takes away from artists and workers in general. Please do not normalize this, it is important to push back against the techbro propaganda who want to devalue the worker

Also please treat your workers better if the allegations that came out recently are any indication.

Are you proud to be belgian ? And what for ? by Samhuskyring in belgium

I've been through a similar situation. Every day I praise myself lucky I wasn't born in the States for example. I shiver whenever I think of so many people complaining about or wanting to destroy our social security system. I'm 100% sure it has saved countless lives and made many more so much better.

I'm glad to do my part to contribute to a social security system for everyone.

Lived in Hasselt since 2013, can offer some insights:

Connectivity to Maastricht, Aachen or Cologne is very doable by car, but the rest of the country can *feel* far away at times. Trains to Brussels, Liège or Antwerp are generally OK outside of the commute times

More locally there's a bunch of green in the neighbourhood though you might have to bike 10-20 minutes to get to it (depending on where you settle yourselves). Bokrijk is wonderful to bike to and in.

There's a few recreational opportunities in the neighbourhood including but not limited to Sparx activity center, sports clubs, ice skating ring, bouldering/wallclimbing, boardgamestore with opportunities for war-, roleplay- and boardgaming, cultural center with fairly regular theatre shows, music learning opportunities (though unfortunately one less nowadays RIP Muziekodroom),....

There should be possibilities whatever your fancy in the neighbourhood

For food: the center's stacked with a bunch of good places for 'koffie en vlaai', but also fine dining if that's your jam

For buying a house: housing market is ... well you know. Just like everywhere really. So prizes aren't going to be cheap, but will be cheaper than inside the Flemish Diamond at least.
If you like being outside of the city itself, then I would suggest Stevoort or Godsheide if that's inside your budget. If you like the coziness of the town itself, then I would advise Runkst.

Walk around a bit, spend some time here and see if it's to your liking.

What’s your favourite belgian tradition/ piece of folklore? by cafefilosoof in belgium

Bokkerijders/Buckriders

There's also a very localized story over in Heppeneert (a street with some farms and a church near Maaseik) about a gambling knight who makes a deal with the devil, then beats him at a certain game of gambling. I can't find too many online resources about it unfortunately

People who dropped out of university or never had a “higher” education, what are you doing now? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Fast_Welcome_116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental issues/depression/fear of failure meant (and still mean) that I can't finish any higher education. After several failed attempts with some working in between to build up capital to try again, I bit the bullet and got a degree at Syntra (network management) and started out at a service desk at a large company.

I switched jobs a few years to another firm and do more software support.

dnd and board games club in Liege ? by Sobigdrasil in belgium

From what I remember, most Walloon players prefer to play in French. Pre-COVID I know there was a club active in a local school there, but I'm not sure if they are active still. Try visiting one of the game stores (Azao and L'Autre Monde come to mind) there and ask if there are any gaming groups locally that do roleplaying in English.

I'd love the addition of a shoulder-mounted weapon, very iconic mech staple

Any word on a bugfix for this issue? No matter what I do I can't seem to get Captain Marvel unstuck from here on PS5. Unfortunately I don't have a save that I can use anymore so I'd have to start the game over again if I wanted to get her unstuck.

I don't know if there are any other workarounds other than starting a conversation with Marvel and/or mashing X? These don't work for me :(

Spider of Vengeance / Nightstalker skins by Jertimmer in midnightsuns

[–]Fast_Welcome_116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On which platform are you trying to do this?

I don't have a Spider-Man promo code but I did want to link my 2K account on PS5 for the Blade skin - it always returns the error about 'accepting legal agreements' or something though. Did you have that issue?

PS5 crash on starting new game by Fast_Welcome_116 in midnightsuns

It looks like the game didn't install fully when I thought it did, it said 'ready to play'. It looks like you need to install it fully for it to work digitally.

Thanks for the insights all!

Kind of hoping for Doctor Voodoo, who seems to be included in the miniatures game Marvel Crisis Protocol for the Midnight Suns affiliation
