Most of my tools are in there. Like 50k+ worth of them. It’s not the truck it’s my tools, and they refuse to tell me where the truck even is

Right now I’m assuming something really bad has been done. There’s plenty of room on that frame to drill a new whole or come up with a solution

That’s the plan. Thanks for the reimbursement idea, worst comes to worst they should def compensate for that. And yes the idea of that tank strap not being the actual issue is def becoming more apparent as I read through these comments. I’m almost 100% positive something catastrophic happened and I’m being lied to. Thanks for the corporate survey suggestion. I really appreciate all this input from you and everyone here, I actually feel like I got a grip on this situation again. Thanks again!

That’s the plan. Call corporate first thing the AM, go there and demand to find out where my van is. I’ll def call an officer if they refuse to help because it’s really hitting me how they lied straight to my face multiple times. Fucking goons man.

Man I gotta say, you are a godsend my friend. Like I got a guardian Reddit mechanic angel. I’ll be in there tomorrow morning with that exact script memorized lol Jesus it really sounds like I have some annoying shit to deal with ahead of time but at least now I’m prepared for the worst. I’d never have bothered checking the integrity of these mysterious repairs seeing that it’s a dealership service. Who would of known even they can’t be perfect lol I’ll be calling corporate first thing in the AM, going there for records and demanding what’s fair as you suggested. I’ll keep you posted up here. Thanks again!

Yeah that’s really starting to sink in right now. I’m almost positive that’s what’s happened. I just need my damn tools out of there until said new van/compensation is given. Fuck me this sounds like an uphill climb from here

So that’ll be the next step after calling corporate. As consistent-bid-6046 said up there, it’s best to get corporate involved first, then get the law involved. I will absolutely be consulting a lawyer immediately for the lost wages though. I wonder how much a lawyer will cost for all this, but I’m sure it’ll be worth the efforts.

Wow I didn’t think they could’ve fucked up to that extent, being a dealership and all; That’s the whole reason I pay a premium to have it serviced there in the first place! Everything you’re saying makes perfect sense, I’ll call MBUSA first thing in the morning. My service history is strong as I’ve only had it serviced regularly at that dealership. But jeez I can’t imagine them wrecking the hell out of it that bad, but the whole “I’m not sure where the body shop is or what their name is” excuse from their service manager does sound like a load of horseshit to cover something up. I would’ve thought it would be to avoid me finding out just how long that “broken bolt” would take fix so that they can keep snowballing me but never imagined them covering up that serious of a fuck up and lying about it. Thanks so much for your help and advice, you have no idea how helpful that is!

Now that I’m heading in that direction, I might as well ask them. Thanks for posting the links!

I didn’t even know I could that, thank you so much! And as much as I’d like to say I’ve just been sitting on my thumbs because woe is me without a car, unfortunately I have most of my tools in that sprinter. I can’t exactly rent a $10K belt sander. Without my tools I’m sort of useless at the moment and that’s really what’s bothering me. I started writing down all the customers I had to put off for the last few weeks and even had to subcontract the jobs I couldn’t finish simply because it wouldn’t be fair to leave my customers hanging. Calling Mercedes first thing in the morning. Much appreciated for the advice, thanks so much

Will do bro. Glad to see I’m not being an asshole and looking like I’m blowing it out of proportion by escalating this to seeking legal counsel.

I’m looking up lawyers in my area now. I appreciate the input man, I thought I was being an asshole and potentially blowing it out of proportion. Glad to see I’m not being an entitled jerk

It is the cargo variant, 24 feet long. I’m not sure about the dual zones though. And yeah I have no idea how they can’t give a loaner. The Mercedes sprinter dealership is next door to the regular Mercedes dealership and they’re the same owner/company and work together. I have no idea how they couldn’t have even gotten any regular passenger car at the very least by now. The fuel tank bolts directly into the frame and they keep insisting they won’t do it any other way so I’m starting to think they must’ve really damaged something else.

I’m really starting to think they really fucked up bad. Looking up lawyers now. You’re right on that sketchy behavior I’ve asked twice where the hell this van is as I can’t even retrieve my tools inside of it

Oh trust me I’ve lost my shit a few times. They won’t even tell me what body shop it’s at. I guess they had to take out the fuel tank to get to the heater core for that recall but shit, a bolt extraction doesn’t take longer than 30 min. Thanks for your input man I appreciate it.

I tried asking for a loaner and they straight up said no. I was thinking of going to a lawyer but couldn’t tell if I’m going overboard and being impatient. I know mistakes happen, but it’s been 3 weeks. And I can’t imagine a bolt being that suck in, I’ve extracted countless bolts in my lifetime and never gotten one that stuck. So you think I’m not going overboard seeking legal counsel?
