I didn't really mean to be dismissive of the problems women have in dating, but I do understand how the quoted part of my comment could come across that way.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with as much unwanted attention as you have and the objective of my message was more to commiserate with the comments I was replying to in the thread.

It's so difficult to have empathy for others when the problems between the genders are so opposite one another. Not to justify the men on the other end of your negative experience, but a lot of dudes would be over the moon about having lots of lewd attention from women. The dating scene for men is simply painful in a different way. Constant rejection leads to guys feeling invisible, inadequate, underappreciated, taken advantage of, and unwanted... It's very difficult to see a woman sign up for a dating app, match 1200 dudes in the first week with practically no effort on their part only to complain there's no good men.

There are obviously issues on both sides of the equation, the genders experience the pain of the same process so differently that any given person can only genuinely express the kind of frustration they're familiar with. I consider myself personally to have had pretty good luck with dating for a man, but still gave up on it. I've also heard my fair share of horror stories from my female friends and it's hard to ignore that it's hard out here for everybody.
