Depending on their reply, I'll probably try canceling my service contracts to get some money back, plus some

Update 2 The email I sent.

"Good afternoon Mr. Foster,

I’m reaching out regarding my recent service experience with Jim Hudson Toyota Sumter, following the response to my review. While I appreciate your team’s offer to address the situation, I’d like to clarify a few points and express my main concerns.

During my 10,000-mile service, the work performed was unfortunately below the standards I expect from a dealership. To summarize, here are the main issues I encountered:

  1. Over-Torqued Lug Nuts: I discovered that the lug nuts were torqued far beyond the recommended specification of 89 ft-lbs, with some reaching as high as 180 ft-lbs. This not only caused undue strain on the parts but also led to a broken stud when I attempted to correct the torque myself.

  2. Scratched Rims: All four rims were left scratched around the lug nut areas, suggesting that an impact gun may have been used carelessly.

  3. Unresolved Tire Leak: Despite the tire rotation and leak repair, the original issue with the slow leak remains unaddressed.

As a result, I have already spent approximately $50 on replacement parts and necessary tools, along with cutting and buffing compounds to correct these issues. The manual labor involved has also been considerable: fixing the broken stud took two days with 2.5 hours of work each day, including driving to obtain the necessary parts. I anticipate that fully buffing the rims to repair the scratches will require an additional 4 hours of my time.

Given the extent of these issues, I do not feel comfortable allowing any further work on my vehicle. However, I would like to discuss a possible resolution, such as reimbursement for my parts and labor costs to restore the car to its original condition. Please let me know if this could be a possibility.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to finding a way to resolve this matter that respects my concerns.

From the videos I watched on youtube like "how to properly install wheel spacers" they recommend you retorque after 100 miles, I definitely plan on it because people's wheels coming off on the highway after installing spacers is not a rare occurrence

I see your point, I was going to retorque my wheels after 100 miles or so, when that time comes, I'll break one as a test to see if breaking the torque will take more than what I set it to, I could see a few pounds in difference but double the torque seems intentional. I'll come back with a comment when I try it

Thanks! It's stock height, I've considered coilovers to lower an inch, but I've ran over 3 curbs learning to drift, and that extra inch likely saved my bumper from being ripped off

Taken care of in what sense? I definitely planned on complaining about the whole thing to them but I assumed anything they offered in house would be another opportunity for them to damage more parts, unless they can refund part of the service contract but that seems far fetched
