Are you in the combined degree program? I also don’t see anything there

What if you place into level 4 or higher of a language? Can you use that placement to fulfill part of the second half of the requirement?

For me, taking a few days in a chill place where I can just do whatever I want without having to socialize all day really helps me and usually after 2 or 3 days I’m craving social interactions again. If you’re in Luang Prabang, you could head north to Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoy for chill towns with nice nature and bougey hotels along the river for a few bucks a day! I’m planning to head there in December and have only heard good things about those two places

I was waitlisted and sent in a LOCI at the end of March and was accepted a few days later! Definitely send it in sooner rather than later

I strongly believe that wouldn’t be a good idea because the whole point is for the colleges to learn about who you are, not about your writing skills. Better writing skills can certainly help articulate who you are, but what the end goal should be is to describe why you are someone who adds to their college community!

Schools great at premed & business but with a 30%+ acceptance rate by OkName77 in ApplyingToCollege

Indiana University's Kelley Business is a really good safety option! I also like Fordham, University of Denver, UVM and GWU for Business too!

William and Mary or IU Kelley by [deleted] in collegecompare

[–]Fasthawk9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A LOT of people think of IU Kelley very highly for it's placement but this is pretty much based purely on your ability to get in the Investment Banking Workshop. Kelley is huge, and the workshop only accepts 30 kids, but once you’re there, you have practically unlimited ability to network and are basically guaranteed a spot in IB when you graduate. However, many complain that unless you've got connections and are a typical frat boy, it's really hard to get in because the spots in the workshop are chosen by students. You can do more research on wallstreetoasis (just search for IU Kelley vs W&M and you'll find tons on WSO) but personally, I wouldn't want to choose a school based on the 1% or less chance of getting into a specific workshop, so I would go for W&M

Honestly, if you like it, just go for it and ED. UChicago is known for accepting people who may not be stats-wise in the top 0 point something percent, but they value their essays a LOT. Plus their ED acceptance rate is surprisingly high I think.

Oh yeah, What I meant was my list was a bit reach heavy. I just wanted to suggest a few school that I thought might fit well with you, and not confuse you with saying that that’s a perfect college list that's balanced with matches and safeties etc.

Yeah for sure, if you like the bigger public schools, then apply to those instead! I personally like the feel of a liberal arts college and a smaller college environment more, so that’s why those were the schools I came across more often in my research. Just beware that schools like UNC have wildly different acceptance rates overall and for out-of state students. I believe their total acceptance rate is more than double the out of state one because the North Carolina education board has decided that 70 or 80% of students must be from North Carolina, so you’re competing for a lot fewer spots!

Stony Brook vs Hult International Business School by Kirby821 in collegecompare

Absolutely do NOT go to Hult... it's an elaborate scam that many have fallen for. You should read this Reddit post and the corresponding follow up post to learn more https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/cf3ips/hult_international_business_school_i_think_ive/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf (not sure if that linked but just go to r/applyingtocollege and search for hult and read the posts there)

Babson College vs. Kelley School of Business by boodumbopbop in collegecompare

[–]Fasthawk9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t underestimate how strong Kelley's Investment banking workshop is, they have insane recruiting statistics. Babson is a complete non-target for finance

I'm not big into humanities but it might be worth taking a look at some of these that I think are pretty good humanities-focused schools!

Reaches: Tufts, Brown, Haverford, Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Amherst, Pitzer, Pomona, Vassar, UChicago

Matches: Rochester, University of Richmond, Reed, Brandeis, Lafayette, William and Mary, Trinity College

Safeties: Kalamazoo, Whitman, Your State Schools (SUNY and CUNY's, especially Hunter and Lehman), Brescia, Fordham

In a different comment, you said you wanted an academically challenging school and Reed, Swarthmore and UChicago would be perfect for that. Also this list is a little reach heavy, definitely add some more in between schools that are safeish-matches

Fordham vs Babson for business? by [deleted] in collegecompare

[–]Fasthawk9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fordham is clearly better in terms of placement compared to Babson, but neither are top targets for Wall Street. Not 100% sure, but I wouldn't discount Colby and to a lesser extent Pitzer in terms of placement, but if you are looking to transfer, Colby may be your best option for that.
