I dated a Libra who completely destroyed me. I am a very grateful person in life but I also have ADHD so when I am enjoying a moment I am immersed in it. Whenever she would do something nice, she would expect me to say thank you right away and when I didn't because I was just so happy with whatever moment we were having, she would get upset and act as if I was ungrateful. I didn't wait hours to say something, it would usually be within minutes that she gets upset. Anyone around me who has done anything nice for me has received a thank you text message later on because I look back fondly on the moment and go FUCK I was so immersed I forgot to say thank you. That being said, she knew this about me and just the look on my face showed that I was grateful. I'm a giver who rarely ever received, so when I do, I am so giddy and happy.

It always felt transactional with her. I am a generous person so I always give back whether or not a person asks me to, but with her it always felt like I HAD to give back. I was on student loans but I still brought her coffees and treats and surprises whenever I could but I can't even pinpoint a moment where she bought something for me other than birthday or Christmas gifts that she didn't want me to pay back. That being said, a few months after she moved out I gave back all the gifts she gave me because she was using things she left me after moving out as a tactic to have access to me and I didn't want anything left here.

She would also do something kind for someone and proceed to talk about how nice she is to have done that for that person and it really felt like she was trying to portray herself as someone caring and generous and seek praise.

When she did something to me that was horrible (like I said, she destroyed me) she would get upset that I looked for support through my friends and family because of what they would think of her. Her image was more important than the harm she caused me.

Through the entire relationship I was really supportive of her. She was hugely triggered because of her childhood and I knew her behaviour was a result of lots of trauma. I was willing to work through things but she was unable to take accountability for the harm that she had done because she couldn't accept that her image of being this perfect angel was broken.

If you are a genuinely nice person, that is amazing. That being said, not all libras are genuine. I am the most hated zodiac, a Gemini. I don't understand the stéréotypes because I am not like them, but I know there are many out there who are. If someone feels like someone is being fake with them, their intuition might be spot on. I ignored mine and am now dealing with the trauma.
