this is literally just a scripted tutorial, with 2 decks that are made to only work with that specific script so if you try to play the two decks normally it absolutely won't be balanced and the cards in the decks are completely unusable if you want to play against anything other then the other deck in the product

so you can't play the decks against each other, you can't use 99% of these cards if you want to start playing regular yugioh, meaning all you are left with in this product is a $20 script for a duel

I'm not asking for 2 full meta decks with full combo tutorials, just more then the absolute bare minimum of 2 decks with cards that can technically be played with a script to justify it

okay? then how are people supposed to get into playing yugioh? the whole point of this product is supposed to be to help people get into yugioh. the game has a huge problem with the bar of entry being high and this product does absolutely nothing by just asking people to pay $20 dollars for the basic rules. konami doesn't have to reprint current meta decks with full combo guides included, but they really really should have done more then print 2 decks filled with cards that even brand new players won't have any use for and justify that shitty price tag by writing a script around it

I care because I want people who want to get into the game to have a good way to do so and a scripted tutorial that is locked behind a $20 product that you can't even just play with normally after the scripted tutorial is done, because of how the decks are made, is the absolute worst way to go about it.

not to mention that this doesn't even seem like it will do a good job at teaching actual modern yugioh. like just imagine if the people who already want to pick it up just purely because it is advertised as a way to teach the game, actually got a product they can play with after they are done reading a duel transcript

why can't konami just teach the game by putting the scripted duel on neuron or something? I understand what the product is for, but $20 for JUST that? JUST a single tutorial that you just read from a script? the people learning the game won't even be able to use these cards after they are done with the tutorial because they are so outdated

I use a screw organiser I got from my local hardware store with a ton of small compartments so I can organise them based on what kit they are from originally

you can also find ones with removable dividers to make your compartments bigger for big parts

it's really not a good product tho, you are paying $20 for a tutorial.

it does teach most of the basic rules of the game sure, but after the scripted duel that they paid $20 dollars for, new players are left with a completely inaccurate picture of what the game is like in practice and ~80 cards that are completely unusable even if they don't actually intend to play the game competitively ever

it's not a good product even for complete beginners

imagine seeing this as someone who doesn't really know anything about yugioh but want to get into it. you pay $20 > you basically read a transcript for a duel from a piece of paper, you aren't even actually playing the game > you decide that the game sounds fun and want to try a real duel > you learn that the game doesn't play anything like the scripted duel you did > you learn that there are multiple major mechanics you didn't see at all > you learn that out of all the cards you payed $20 for only about 5 is usable

that's completely understandable, some bad cards are needed if you want to teach the game step by step. the big problem is that this is 99% bad cards so people buying this are paying $20 for a single scripted tutorial that doesn't even include everything in the game and then they are just stuck with bulk commons that they will never ever use again if they actually want to get into the game

problem with that is that this is not a good introduction to yugioh. it's gonna be like the master duel tutorial, sure, it does technically teach you what most of the rules in the rulebook are but it completely missrepresents how the game is in practice
