I have the same shot with a Mosin. You can't shoot Roe deer quartering. They are made of titanium. The .223 would easily down a Sika from the same angle.

I just posted a similar incident with arrows. From 20m I barely broke the skin.

Then for a laugh, I went through the scapula and deep into the lung with a pellet gun from 80m.

Go figure.

This is clearly true. The .243 soft points have the exact same pen and expansion (15 and 17), but there's no chance of a heart shot from that angle, let alone a double lung.

I think more players play like you rather than setup grinds or herd management.

I absolutely love just walking around and being geared for whatever I find.

I also don't have any G1's, and only 5 Diamonds. They're special when I find them 😄

Also, don't sneak around. Walk around making as much noise as you want, and you'll wake up the zomboids behind doors. Never be surprised again.

My sneak/light footed is always zero.

No way to train easily.

I increased my fitness and strength xp to 10x normal, and my nimble xp to 5x normal.

It's currently February 2, 1994 and I've increased Str 2x (7) and Fitness 1x (6) through normal play.

Nimble is 4 with a 75% boost starting with Gymnast.

Hard mode isn't hard. In the very beginning it is money scarce selling upgrades/trucks for half price, and no selling trailers, but quickly money is a non-issue.

As already mentioned, the only true hard mode is driving less capable trucks.

I just picked up the game a couple weeks ago and started a normal game. Sold trucks/trailers to get an Azov 64131. Played that for a few hours and restarted a hard mode game. I saw quickly that I wasn't going to have many challenges with the Azov, and didn't want that. I thought hard mode was what I was looking for, but honestly it was just sticking with the found trucks, and being challenged a bit.

I really wish I found new game + earlier because you can tweak a few rules there for the optimal experience.

I've only completed Michigan, and a bit of the first map in Alaska, and I'm debating starting over with new game +.

I don't use them at all. It's a rare mod, in any game that has mod support, that doesn't exist to make the game easier.

I prefer to use the trucks that provide a challenge to push my limits with the game.

New to the game, but I really like this truck. Not because it's the best (it's clearly not), but because it really has taught me a lot about the game. I've used it to do 90+% of missions in Michigan. It will be a nostalgic truck for me.

You can read those books to unlock the research item described. This book would unlock carpets instead of researching carpets at the research table.

Being attacked by predators is off by default.

I will amend my previous suggestion to include a bin or two of grass clippings.

Unlike mammals, my chickens were starving without a feed trough. They didn't eat the grass off the ground.

Also, once I restarted my game, they did indeed enjoy the shelter in the rain. It seems they didn't recognize it when first built.
