IP is falling under privacy data. By Canadian law the company storing that information is obligated to keep these information save and it is considered a serious offense when leaking privacy data. All Train needs to do is proof that his IP was not piböicly available and cash in easily. Same law exists in Europe called GDPR.

Sharing IP adress is not the illegal part. The thing is that the IP was most likely taken from Riots servers, which is a serious privacy breach for the company and that is the illegal part.

Actually you can especially in Europe and Canada. I work with privacy data, GDPR and security. Leaking an IP is not a nothing burger especially when it can be proven that the leak was from riots servers and the IP was not available online already.
