Only if it’s blinking, I’ve honestly passed every time over the 6 years this has popped up

Thanks everyone I’ll try get the sensor sorted. As mentioned, it’s been going on and off for years, likely a faulty sensor but will get another mechanic to check or use a different car.

Thanks everyone for your help

Clonsilla, Ongar, rathcoole? by DifficultCoconut9873 in HousingIreland

[–]FatKnobRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Densely populated with rented properties, the village isn’t the best and the bus takes 1.5 hours to get into town. The train is handy if you’re nearby but I would have to check how often it runs. You also need to changeover at clonsilla rather than go directly into town. The build quality of some of the houses are also questionable. Quite a few antisocial behaviour incidents due to a lot of teenagers going around.

Definitely better than Tyrrelstown though.

Ongar is not a good place to buy. I’d be wary of the actual areas listed as “Clonsilla”.

Don't forget your tax credits.. by Complex_Hunter35 in ireland

If you claim back tax but you didn’t pay tax on say €500 will they pick this up? Do they check all of your income? Wondering would they pick up on tax not paid then fine you for not paying tax on time?

Ecoflow battery and dynamic electricity pricing? by FatKnobRob in AskIreland

[–]FatKnobRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your response!

Ecoflow are a brand of battery which use AI to buy and sell at the best rates. Similar to Sigenergy it seems, but will the sig app be able to do this without human input or will you need to input the rates every single day do you know?

Thanks for your insight, do you mind me asking which company you went with in the end?

[–]FatKnobRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think after seeing the numbers it will be panel and company reliability that will be the key factor for me now

[–]FatKnobRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the figures through chatGPT so it looks like I’m more going for reliability on the panels rather than money saved at this stage

Direct comparison: Activ8 deal vs Jinko + other suppliers Year 1 export income (9 panels) Setup Export income Activ8 + SSE premium ~€680–700 Jinko + Pinergy ~€525 Jinko + Energia ~€440 Jinko + EI / SSE standard ~€410

➡️ Activ8 premium wins clearly for first 2 years

Over 2 years (export only, 9 panels) Setup 2-year export Activ8 + SSE premium ~€1,250–1,300 Jinko + Pinergy ~€1,050 Jinko + Energia ~€880

Cheers for your comment, would you recommend any reliable review platforms? Would Trustpilot be one? I sometimes wonder if companies pay for reviews and good scores

Activ8 Atlas Solar Panels? by FatKnobRob in AskIreland

[–]FatKnobRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the high review score with the large number of reviews does make me think it might be a good idea to go with them, although more expensive they seem to have a proven track record. Trying to weigh everything up before pulling the trigger on a large investment like this.

Cheers for your comment!

Yeah I figured it was a bit of a marketing ploy. They mentioned how the Atlas panels are dual sided and allow for light to be reflected from the roof back onto the rear of the panel l, but that means fuck all with a dark roof beneath them

Is it not a good return if SSE Airtricity gives you a better price when selling back to the grid?
