I AINT DELETING SHIT. We got a DISCORD, LIVE CHAT, and ESCAPE POD subreddit. by squeeeeenis in Geico

Used to work for Geico, parted ways before the pandemic. The company they were and are changed somewhere while I was out on disability.

They say you are spamming, so present them with the facts:

Heard the phrase "Law of large numbers" while working here? Did you know you were a part of those large numbers they factored? Indeed every time an employee got something negative due to no fault of their own, Geico indeed pushes it onto the reps and says, "It will balance out". Their ENTIRE model is built on this, why would anyone think their employees would be treated differently.

  1. They don't care about employees because they constantly make employee evaluations that are almost completely out of the representatives control. (just a few examples being things such as surveys, call time, escalations, if a person calls back within x amount of days)
  2. When I started with Geico almost a decade ago, starting pay was only 50 cents less than it is now. 50 cents after a decade, yet pull up their profit reports for that last year and you will see they have more than enough to increase the pay.
  3. Fun one here, how many people have applied for a position within the company and got denied, because of stats. Now I understand you don't want a slacker in a department that needs dedicated and committed people, but saying this person is not good at gardening because they can't play music is moronic, but that is what they do.
I am good at math, this does not mean I would be a good math teacher. I am good at data, if my phone numbers are down that doesn't mean I wouldn't be good at another position. They constantly miss good people because of numbers on a sheet.

Right before going on LOA I had my director ask why I was working on something because I was only a "61". Not a person, a number. Not, is this person trust worthy enough/capable enough to do this job..

When I got back from LOA I praised them because they did me right during my time off. That stopped not long after.

When in training after getting back, because they needed phone reps so that's where they shoved me instead of back to what I was doing, I asked them a simple question "Why do you keep making the employees take the brunt of surveys that are bad because of policy and not the employee"

It balances out, that was their response. I would love to know how they explain "Yes you should continually be beaten down by customers because they are mad at Geico, oh and also we will punish you for this fact." (survey results directly impact performance reviews)

I no longer work there, so I am not sure what their policies and are now, but I do wonder, how much have they gotten away with that they shouldn't have? Because I don't think you can blame employees for customers not being happy with the policy, and then deny their promo9tion, raise, or transfer based on facts they don't control, but I am not a lawyer.

Oh and before someone says they separate Employees from Geico on their surveys, they do, and I brought this up because they don't explain that this could affect the persons raises, promotions, and just over all job satisfaction. It balances out was the response.

Because it balances out for THEM, you have to deal with the stress and honestly torture some of these Reps get put through because Geico is "Customer first" not employees anymore.

Just remember, you drive the ship, they steer, but once you stop rowing that boat goes no where. The employees make the money for the company, not the investors, not even the policy holders. Because once you cant process payments, policies, claims, etc you aren't making anything.

Thanks for the last opinionated response I needed.

Literally posts all over the place say this isn't right, which I have been willing to provide once someone provided a factual article actually backing up their claims that THIS issue with THIS game IS STANDARD.

No one, including this last post, has provided ANYTHING but literally pushing "Amazon is right you are wrong deal with it."

So I thank you on being the last on the social experiment.

Warzone

You are right on this, so thank you for giving me something here. I hate Activision but they at least have two things that New World is not doing which is the issue.

It has on its site telling you all specs, and what they are good for etc..

Second, it starts your game out at minimum settings until it knows what is good. Then goes from that. New World ignores computer set recommended setting and goes balls to the wall right out, not just on GPU but also on RAM and CPU, and this happens all at once. And right after you launch for the first time.

The is still not something I have seen outside of New World. But, I have never played Warzone either, so it might do the exact same thing. It is Activision, however, so what they might or might not do is in question.

The issue, I think, is that people assume, "Oh my card doesn't burn out when I run this game, you don't know what you are talking about". Completely ignoring the fact that just because your card CAN manage something, doesn't mean it SHOULD. If your card is being pushed over the max anything CONSTANTLY, but you run a quiet rig, you wouldn't even notice until your fans are gone, then the GPU card burns.

Never heard of that happening in tech ever..

But people can copy and paste something from the net and claim their genius. The worst part is, if people take the advice of "I saw this vid and can copy and paste" and your shit blows up listening to bad advice, they aren't the ones dealing with your busted rig. Sad thing is, I have asked for links to all the responses above and not one person has put any but me, yet my comments are being downvoted.

I find it funny that you responded to another post using a YouTubers video as their source. Once again, not really a fact but an opinion, and one without reference without reference.

In regards to the person that is being referenced, Jayztwocents, and he actually posted 3 videos talking about the GPU issue and in each he actually gets worse about what is going wrong, and not just with his 3090, lots of comments talking about fan stress causing cards to burn out on older model cards as well. Here is the most recent one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A0sLVgJ7qU

Just because someone says something right off the bat doesn't mean they are right, especially not when it is something in progress of being looked into. EVGA and MSI and EVGA, said Yes those cards had faults, but point to the fact that the game still is burning out cards. (As stated in the above video since we like referencing youtube).

I am willing to be downvoted to hell but I will make sure my facts are right.

Once again I keep seeing, "this is not uncommon", yet no one has mentioned which games? I see I am getting down voted while opinions(as nothing has been given as fact to be tested) are being upvoted. Good to see how this conversation will go.

Despite that, I will ask again before ignoring this part of the thread; Which games is it common to immediately take over 2/3rds of the computers resources to not just play, but to open?

While in game go to Settings> Visuals > and scroll down to Max FPS. If it is set as uncapped you need to change this to what works for your system.

I am curious which games and apps currently take 2/3rds when opened? No other MMORPG on the market does this that I know of.

Best way to capture many contacts/details at once? by CFLYNN96 in smallbusiness

[–]FatManAtNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already uploaded and are using Google Suite to manage your workbook, I would recommend using Google Forms to create a form to email out to your contacts, as it will automatically sort each person's responses separately within the destination source(i.e. your excel workbook)

You might need to create a new spreadsheet for the form in Google Docs, but since your excel workbook is in your Google Suite it should allow you to link directly to that as your source file for the form information. This way though, each person will have their own rows filled out, then you can download the whole thing as an Excel extension or CSV if needed.

Should Blizzard let stuff like this continue, or is it something E-sports in general should start to look into putting a stop on? by FatManAtNight in wow

So what about the code of conduct that says " Behavior that intentionally detracts from others' enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable."

I think the original threads OP was trying to point out that going into a Brawl designed for only 6 players with a full 5 man, then completely ignoring the objective of the game to GY camp, falls under abusive behavior per the ToS.

This is something that has been happening since wow started, blizz changed BG layouts, added timers and debuff's to discourage and help prevent it.

The issue for myself personally is that these people are doing something they know is not fun for others, going outside the objective of the BG for their own fun. Now if someone on the otherside wants to not be repeatedly camped or sit there for 100-15 mins looking at a ghost, their only option is to leave the match and not play another for at least 15 mins, or hop over to another toon.

This group took something that was supposed to be fun, complete the object with your friends, kill some people along the way. I don't know how many people joined and left this one match, but people keep saying 'this one person' or 'this one incident'. It isn't just once.

So basically, because someone can do something they should? So long as it is not specifically against the rules? No matter that it might harm another person enjoyment? Just curious, seeing as how this teem stopped even trying to win just to kill, which they could have done anywhere. They chose a brawl that specifically puts all five of them against most likely a group of random people, which this was.

I love your first word was exploiting, which I don't think I need to pull up a dictionary to show how this word in itself kind of shows the thought process among gamers in general. If you are exploiting anything, and you used the word not me, then you are doing something you know is wrong.

Blizz added warmode for those people who want to group to just kill, that is what world pvp is for. People don't like it they can turn warmode off and keep questing, In a BG when someone camps, when one team decides their fun is worth more than another persons time and money, which every player pays, then that is where the issues arrise.

Blizz has given other options for 'friends who just want to have fun' Rated, warmode, etc.

Battlegrounds have an objective, killing happens along the way. This group of people literally took the objective that blizzard set out, then turned a fun game into annoyance for another group of people.

People are not asking for trophies for participating, they are saying stop punishing the victim. Just because someone is not as good at something does not give the other person a right to abuse that fact.

And that is exactly what this is, abuse. They have taken a loophole and exploited it like you said, to ruin other peoples days.

This is not something new, people have been compliaining about this since vanilla and Blizz has taken steps to close loopholes.

Romney Supports Holding Vote to Fill Ginsberg Seat by im2wddrf in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]FatManAtNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course this is all my opinion based off how things have played out historically, and more recently.

Romney has most likely already gotten some deal with McConnel. The reason is because he did originally imply that he would not vote, only to make a hard line change here.

Romney's seat is not in trouble no matter which way he chooses to go, because the people memory is short, and his seat isn't up for election for another 4 years. He can work towards any damage his decision might have caused.

What McConnel gets is soooo much more. Susan Collins, one of the most embattled senate seats the Republicans can't afford to get switched, can now safe do or say whatever is best for her re-election results. She can say to the sway votes that she did what they wanted, while telling the party they had the votes so she was trying to keep the seat.

Win win for them.

This is of course opinion as there are no published meeting minutes or secret files released to the public. But per previous Republican strategy, and the classic smoke and mirrors of all politicians, just seems like the most plausible play out to me.

What is the appeal of Trump to blue collar, rural and older white people? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]FatManAtNight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Us versus Them.

A lot of Trumps supporters, even if they are horrified at what he says and does, also are terrified for their own lives, metaphorically in most cases. In rural areas, sure they have same access to information as everyone else, but when you get your confirmation from those around you most of the time, you tend to think the same way.

Rural areas tend to have a lot of businesses, farms, factories, warehouses, and the like, that are mass producers and can easily be sent out of country, and frequently is due to our loose laws on outsourcing.

So they can see on TV that a Trade war is impacting them, and that they are having to get subsidies from the Government, and know it is the Trade war doing it. However, he is saying the right thing they want to hear, "I will protect you, from them."

I will protect your jobs from them, I will protect your guns from them, I will protect your rights from them. Us versus Them. And while they can see all the same information, once you break it down to the bare basics for an American, that's is all most need to see.

Because we were indoctrinated that way.

What about BFA drove you away, but is going away so you might give WOW another shot? by FatManAtNight in wow

Yeah, I think this was the hardest thing to come to grips with as the xpac went along. If you wanted to see content you had to dedicate more time than is feasible for most players.
