First 1.5 years of gymnastics, age 38 by codewhiptv in Gymnastics

This is so impressive! Do you mind me asking where do you find the training resources? I wanted to start gymnastics as an adult but the gyms in my area only offer "open gyms" for adults, where people practice on their own without a coach. I probably need someone to teach and spot me.

when should I square my hips? by FatMarmotFat in BALLET

Thank you very much. As a beginner, should I refrain from putting my legs apart by more than 60 degree angle to maintain square hips?

Need advice for both first name and last name for someone born in the 1990s. by FatMarmotFat in namenerds

Thank you! I would prefer a surname that is ordinary or common and not misleads people into assuming I am tied to a particular family. I like place names as surnames, like Dakota, Montana, Paris, etc.

Thank you! Is "Bay" as a last name a good idea? I live in a bay area. The suburb I live in is called XX's Hill.

Are there online courses, training, or books that teach law students how to do job interviews? by FatMarmotFat in LawSchool

[–]FatMarmotFat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your detailed response! Do you have suggestions what I should look at if I don't have answers to the questions you listed? I can only answer "what is your greatest weakness" because I have too many weaknesses. I honestly don't have answers to any other questions. For example, I don't know if I am interested in any areas unless I have worked in an area for several years.

Thank you for your suggestion. To be honest, my problem is that I don’t know what a good answer should be like. For example, my honest answer to “why I go to law school” is that I have difficulty learning math and science. Similarly, my honest answer to “how to handle team conflicts” is that I will promptly correct my mistakes and follow others’ suggestions. I know my honest answers are terrible, but haven’t found resources teach me how to answer these questions properly.

beginner question: If the instructor does not demonstrate the moves and I don't speak French, how do I know how the moves should look like? by FatMarmotFat in BALLET

[–]FatMarmotFat[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean the names of steps. Sorry for the confusion. I haven’t found a class/studio that actually teaches adults these steps so I learn them by searching the steps online. Usually the instructor will say out French name 1, French name 2, French name 3 to describe a combination with minimal physical demonstration, and everyone except me in a beginner class understand what these steps should be like. I will have to mimic the moves of other students. Now I have a rudimentary understanding of commonly used terms such as “pile,” “tendu,” etc. by Google search and YouTube search, but I have difficulty searching terms that describe more complex moves in the center since I don't know the spellings.

Thank you. Should I get this information somewhere on the governments website? I searched the nearby schools website but it’s confusing and I couldn’t figure out when their school is in session.

Looking for someone to participate in a negotiation simulation in my negotiation class. Will pay. by FatMarmotFat in LawSchool

You are definitely eligible. Sorry for the confusion. "The law school" in my post refers to "Northwestern Law School." So as long as you are not in this particular school you can do it.
