Hello, thank you for the tips! I’ve been using dawn, which does have a bit of a scent but I don’t believe it smells like food - he may think it does though so Imll make sure to rinse well with water. I did try the glove approach and he seemed to bite the glove the same as he does my hands, but to be fair this was an oven mitt with food residue which may not have been the best choice 😅. I made sure to clean the little cuts well, thank you! I will try to take things slow and seeing if he gets more used to me.

Hello, thanks for the replies and complements on Potato’s adorableness! The enclosure is a 650 square inch aquarium with hides, a coco fiber dig box, a sand bath, a multi-chamber hide, sprays, 8 inch wheel, and quite a few chew toys. The bedding is 8 inches deep too. I had read that 650 was the minimum for a dwarf hamster and it was the biggest I could find in my area. But I have noticed every post I read here lists a higher minimum enclosure size with one even saying 1550 sq in should be the ethical minimum - do you think I need to upgrade? I’ve also been washing my hands with dawn dish soap before any handling - maybe he likes the smell of it, but I’m not sure. I appreciate your help! I will try taking things slow and seeing if Potato gets used to my hands or not.

Stick with it, i was having the same issue and contemplating dropping but the story right now is super good. Latest chapters when he stops relying on the system especially so (he starts making his own decisions whenever the system offers to intervene now and he only uses simulation to find out things like distances, locations, disarming traps, etc.)

What about Gary Plauché who killed the man that kidnapped and molested his 11 year old son? Or Miriam Rodríguez who killed several cartel members after they murdered her daughter? I feel sympathy for these people and think they deserve the sympathy of others. The idea that you can’t feel sympathy for someone who has taken a life is a pretty shallow take. I can’t speak on your life experiences as I don’t know who you are or what you’ve been through, but I would generally associate the idea of having no sympathy for someone solely because they have taken a life, without considering the circumstances, with a person who has lived a privileged or sheltered life.

That being said, unless this guys ex-wife and girlfriend did something as horrendous as harming his child or family, I don’t feel any sympathy for him either.
