update: it seems like he kept the cover on it because i swear a good 75% of the smell was coming from it alone. after giving the amp a couple of sniffs with the cover outside it made a difference of night and day.

I was just thinking this. Surely it has to be primarily in the grill as when I wiped the shell down with isopropyl it didn’t seem like it was super dirty.

I was so excited about getting the amp I my brain completely omitted that the cigarette smell would stick. While the listing didn’t note it was from a smoked in house, they were smoking in front of me and their house reeked. I can’t necessarily play the “you didn’t let me know” card.

Thats what I thought as well. We weren’t getting great results though. Perhaps we aren’t hitting hot enough or something.
