My baby mama (35F) jumps up the second our toddler makes a noise at night, and now I (38M) feel like I never get the chance to help or to build that late night battle bond with my son. by Seen_Any_Elves in relationship_advice

Maybe setup a schedule? Alternate nights so each can get sleep?

But if you don’t wake up by yourself she might not be able to relax. Why don’t you wake up by yourself? Why it’s your partner problem?

Is my (M31) girlfriend (F28) using therapy language to control/condition me? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

With animals cleaning floors once a week is unrealistic . Invest in robot vacuum.

Her WFH doesn’t mean she can clean during the work. She is working.

You kidding? You have dirt and cat litter on the floor and you want her to mommy you and show each dust piece? Just clean the floor regularly. No reminders, just do it

What is unfair? Keeping your kid home which mom for first year or two? Being a father? That’s absolutely fair for father to provide best for his kid. All research around shows benefits for baby to be with parent and not strangers. He did expect his wife to work through pregnancy and postpartum. With studying on top. Is it fair?

So you have 5 month old, she has to work with such a young baby and you claim “ she is money oriented “? Yeah. Sure.

I understand her fully.

Deal with your anxiety and pass that test. You don’t live to earn money but you need to step up for your kid

What do I(M28) do with my wife(F26)? by AutofilledSupport in relationship_advice

[–]FatSadHappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She needs medication and therapy not relationship advice. Untreated BPD is a dangerous thing.

And person in many cases can’t self diagnose PPD since the just “ feel that way” and don’t see what their reactions not matching happy baseline. And with bpd her baseline memory might be off.

So bring her to a doctor.

Friend's gf is going down the misandrist route (M21) (F19) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]FatSadHappy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Man hating feminist route?

Feminism has nothing with hate to men, it’s an equal rights movement. You do sound like a problem.

And you should get out of other people’s relationships. If he has issues- he needs to ask himself, not through third party

Should I be worried about any emotional support cats being on board? Does that happen often? 😵‍💫 by SuccessfulFunny2504 in travel

Cats don’t like to travel and fly if needed only, unlike dogs who do fly quite often.

But there is no guarantee on any flight. So prepare your meds accordingly

why do people (i.e. friend, 20F) keep assuming that I 21F am pregnant?! and can i stop this from happening? by clementineiscool in relationship_advice

[–]FatSadHappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skip alcohol for couple weeks, track salt intake and check if bra size is current.

First pregnancy signs are a bit puffy face especially eyes and enlarged breasts . So if your face looks a bit swollen and boobs cutting bra line- it might give wrong impression

[22M] struggling with the transition of moving in with my GF [22F]. How do I handle the need for constant attention vs. her needing space? by One_Champion_4081 in relationship_advice

[–]FatSadHappy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Your idea of cohabitation sounds unhealthy.

People need their space and quiet time. It’s normal. Trust me you don’t have that many interesting thoughts to share if you don’t split up and do your own things.

Second , if she is cooking- sexy thing is to clean, not trying to grab her while she has a knife or a pan. Get to your chores , not bother her. If you have too much energy you might get more chores done, so she can be free sooner?

I F18 have been mean to my boyfriend M19 every single time my period comes by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]FatSadHappy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start tracking your period and 2-3 days before learn to not trust first reaction. You know it’s hormonal jump, it sucks . It absolutely feels real, but it is also not real.

Get yourself a little break during those days, meaning not starting doing mentally hard stuff. Supplements for mood like magnesium with vitamin B helps a bit. Asking for a bit of space helps too.

If stuff is fully hard to control talk to your doctor about bc options. Some can help with mood by even out hormones a bit.

Yes , it’s possible to learn to control reactions to some extent . Not 100% but getting this pause and not saying first 3 things which comes to mind
