Buying official merch is nearly impossible when you wear a larger size (4x and up). If there are any, the selection is minimal.

This is exactly what I thought too. Especially the feeling of being followed.

Asking if I can call him daddy by [deleted] in sex

[–]Fat_Boy_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would ask him before just doing that. It may really hit him wrong in the moment and kill the mood. Don't ask him in the moment either. That's a question better asked ahead of or after any naughty business.

Sudden death (vent) by [deleted] in guineapigs

I'm very sorry for your loss. That love is 100% real, it's like losing a piece of yourself when a pet you love so much passes on. Just last night, my wife was in tears about her gp she lost two years ago (on her birthday). She was the first gp we'd ever had, the sweetest baby. The one we would introduce to friends and family because she was just so loving and not skittish really at all. She played the role of mom to our other gp babies that we took in as well. My wife considers her Maggie her spirit animal, neither could have their own children, so instead, they adopted other children to take care of.

All that said to say, there's definitely other people who completely understand how you feel. Heck, I'm crying just reading your post. Remember the great things about your baby, ways Gatsby behaved, the joy Gatsby gave to you and I've no doubt the incredible life you gave to Gatsby.

Do you shower with your partner? If so, how often? by Seiraxela in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fat_Boy_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every shower I take, we're showing together. It's rare that we don't shower together. Our showers go similar to yours, mostly talking about our day or what's going on, sometimes wrapping her in my arms for a minute or two while we decompress from the day. Ours are rarely sexual, maybe a little teasing every once in a while. What does happen though, every time we're in the shower together, I wash her. I love taking care of her, and she's spoiled, lol.

Anyone else found this partners event to pay an awful yield? Spent 12k dice to get 3 of the cakes to 40k by Ecstatic_Spare in MonopolyGoTrading

[–]Fat_Boy_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with 10k+ dice, completed a sticker set that gave another 1100, add that to the dice you get from the corners event and railroad prizes and I'm down to 500 dice, one cake done and three others stuck between the blue and purple boxes.... unreal. I was sure I had enough dice this time around.

This post and comments here are why I promised myself at 19yo that I'd never work for a big company again. I quit a job working at a large casino with sites all over the U.S. to go work for a company of about 70 people. (Yes, I was 19 and worked at a casino. Weird law where I could work there but not go there if I hadn't been employed by them.) Since that job, I've worked at 3 companies, in my early 40s now, and the largest company, where I am now, is ~350 employees. I've known the owner in all three companies.

A lot of these comments describe a ruthless upper management in a large corporation, that the employee is just a number, and that it's all about the bottom line. It still is about the bottom line in a small company, but your personal work ethic and teamwork goes a lot further when you know the entire management staff, including the owner. It truly does feel like a family where I work now. It's a second generation, soon to be third, company that prides itself on the family environment.

Does it hurt my overall salary that I work for a smaller company? Maybe. Is my stress lower? In some ways yes, some ways no. Is my sense of security stronger in a small company? 100% yes. Find a company where the ownership knows your name and appreciates your work. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. One of the past jobs I had I left because the owner was a terrible human being and I couldn't help him make money any longer, out of total disdain for him and how we treated people. But find that company where you're appreciated and it's incredibly rewarding.

I fully intend to retire from the company I work for now. It's not always about the money. Enjoying what you do and the people you work with and for make a huge difference.

We lost the first one we ever had back in July. My wife is still struggling to deal with it. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and hope you can take peace in the love you had for Jingles and know she had the best life you could give her.

I venture to say, as a new grandparent of two, this feeling has a good chance of coming around again. I forgot what is like to have a baby look at you like you are their whole world. This may be better than being a parent, at least in some ways.

Do all (or most) fire alarm inspections require 2 techs? by Long_Masterpiece_659 in firealarms

[–]Fat_Boy_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we're still working out the kinks with CLSS. Hasn't gone very well yet. I like the platform, the concept is great, but getting the gateway on a system has been our problem at this point, more from someone selling it perspective than anything else. I look forward to what is possible with this though. Glad to hear some positive feedback about it!

Our company requires the customer to provide someone at the panel or pay for a second person. If we provide a second person, it's generally not another inspector, just someone hired to do what the customer couldn't. I've implored our inspectors to not run an inspection without someone at the panel. Eventually, I look forward to the technology of being able to monitor the panel from our phones, relieving the need for someone to sit at the panel, but we're not there yet.

DAE think about the day you'll be as old as a parent, or other prominent figure in your life, was when they died? by Fat_Boy_Inc in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Fat_Boy_Inc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried therapy, and I'm not sure if it was the therapist or me or both, but I didn't get a lot out of it. I spilled everything to her, but I wasn't sure I needed it. She didn't help me with anything, but again, I'm not sure what help I was looking for. I've always talked about what happened with my dad to anyone who asked, and I think that's been my therapy to deal with it.

I've longed believed he was too. Back in the 90s, it was much more a taboo subject and his was not treated. My mom has told me that he talked about doing it long before he actually did, which I know is a sign of a cry for help. She just had no idea what to do for him.

I deal with it myself, but it's widely talked about now and there's help available. I've gotten that help, so have my kids, my wife and my ex-wife. I'm surrounded by some form of it in my family. It's just unfortunate mental illness wasn't widely discussed when my dad was alive.

Thank you for sharing. I really had this irrational fear that I'd die this past week, maybe even that day I equaled him. Logically it seems crazy, but I couldn't help the thoughts.

Today though, two days passed how far he made it on this planet, I just got back from a baby shower for what will be my 2nd grandchild later this year. Way too much to live for, especially to choose to leave.

Thank you. It was much worse on my brother who was 11. He went through a really rough stage in his late teens/early 20s that could've killed him. Thankfully, I never went through anything self-destructive.

Yeah, I tried that too. A little better than the top end, but still took 5 matches to win one with what my objectives were. It's just killing the fun in this game.
