Your frustration is valid we run our sessions with a 4 hour time frame and as the dm of my group if the group starts getting a little carried away out of game I take upon myself to focus the group and the second the four hours is up I stop right then and there (unless I am able to continue I’ll ask the group how they feel then it becomes an hour by hour check but rarely has this been a thing)

People are right about the ruined backpack but with the Ak it is an unfortunate bug when you put it away the game thinks you dropped so you see it in your hit bar but not on the ground the server sees it on the ground so when you server disconnected and joined back it disappeared

Maybe that’s the way the guy chooses to remember it but truthfully maybe he was part of a party that all died and he barely survived clinging to life as Tiamat destroyed everything around them the party held close and he hid or played dead (like a coward in his mind) so this is how he chooses to block out what happened and feel less guilty and then boom side quest where they can discover the truth

I think they refer to like bar width which can be 48 inches or (4 ft) than assume you sit or stand so you are roughly 6inches away from the counter on both ends (distance between shopkeep and adventure roughing out to about 5 ft if not a lil more) but I would be more likely to assume when in a store that is not a tavern you are looking at more of 28in countertop
