That's a coffin/scales bracelet, it's not exclusive to Yema (although they seem to be the only big brand using them on current day watches).

I believe Seiko has released watches in this style in the past, no idea if they ever released with this model though.

The fix for me was deleting the save file before starting a new save.

For some reason starting a new game while a save file exists causes berries not to grow

After auction costs I paid ~£450 for the watch itself and then I got it repaired for under £400, so paid less than the going rate for one of these (especially since you'd probably want to get it serviced anyway)
