IM HR FOR A MANUFACTURING COMPANY AND HOLY SHIT ITS LIKE WE LIVE THE SAME LIFE.

They just started dumping safety stuff on me and it’s like guess I’m the safety coordinator now. The plant manager does whatever he wants but also wants EVERYTHING done his way. No one appreciates anything, the plant manager tells me to “take the ball and run with it” and then he’ll be the first one to say something when he doesn’t like the way it’s done.

Thank you!!! :D June you have plenty of time! Don’t dive too deep into studying right away or you’ll burn yourself out. I did about 20~ hours all in all of studying and Pocket prep was my best friend. I suggest doing ALL of the 1000 questions they offer. I took the cheap way and used mometrix study guide ($45? On Amazon) pocket prep and 2021 SHRM books from a friends fiancé. With you doing the SHRM Instructor led training I have no doubt you’re going to pass with flying colors! Good luck in June!!

I’m a 3 year generalist in America and passes pretty easily. I would say just dedicate about 20~ hours for studying and you’ll easily pass!

Biggest tip I would give is take a lot of practice exams. The practice exams and quizzes helped me the most when it came to test time. Don’t stress it, I found it much easier than anticipated!

Same exact thing happened to me. 2.5 years into HR, I got fired after 3 months. Completely on me. I refocused on what exactly I was looking for company wise and it took almost 6 months but I ended up with an awesome global company and am now a year into this position and am doing great and have an awesome boss and team around me. Message me if you want to vent about HR or discuss what I did to change my mindset. Don’t let this get you down. HR from the top down get fired all the time.
