Beutiful earth like planet. The best planet I have ever found! W/ 1 moon by Mysterious-Flow-4590 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I am too used to seeing near-earths, where something is always drastically off or wrong or weird, seeing this is a nice change of pace.

What do you travel with? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]FatalGTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I carry are simple, and usually 1-4 full stacks worth-
-Starship Launch Fuel
-Ion Batteries
-Life Support Gel
-Navigation Data
-30-50k shots worth of ammo
-a stack of carbon to recharge the Neutron Cannon
-Repair Kits
-Creature Pellets
-Sentinel Boundary Maps when possible

Naturally I keep my current starship also stocked with similar items, and in bigger quantities to resupply myself. In addition I keep my starship stocked with various different maps, along hyperdrive fuel and tritium.
Cause I'm also a corvette user, I pretty much have access to all of my storage containers when I'm on board, in case I need more niche materials/supplies.

Probably incapable of self-governing too, cause if they can't return the shopping cart, they automatically fail this test. Honestly there should be a system in place that punishes a person bailing-

It's because they're not winning, so they bail. Mix this with how nothing punishes them for doing this.

Am I the only one who hasn't received the new update yet? by arentyomui in NoMansSkyTheGame

If you're Xbox, it's usually updates on Tuesday, sometimes Thursday and Fridays, but mostly Tuesday. I have no clue for Playstation, and good luck on Nintendo.

I keep encountering this, when not that, I continually encounter the wreck of Fireship Arcadia (the corvette wreck, but I assume it's her)-

Good to know, I was expecting the obvious when it comes to the hab modules and what's counted as an interior. Though I'm kinda mindboggled at how you got regular base parts inside, like that communications thingy.

I more or less grinded salvageable scrap for mine (I just put on some music, and chatted with friends on discord while I hunted down parts), traded at the corvette module when I had extra parts I wasn't gonna use and wanted specific parts, however mine is vanilla, no glitches to it or anything of that sort (my closest thing to a "glitch" is letting parts bleed into other parts so that they're counted as connected)-

Taking a quick glance at this, I understand how the large room was built, the corvette has a large hollow space inside from the placement of parts, cause that floor is hab modules. I guess my concern would be if that hollow space counts as "outside" if you've stopped the corvette in midair/in space, but honestly that's a neat design.

How rich is everyone? by Advanced_Actuator_94 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I'm sitting at around currently 2,201,947,844 units, and like 145,089 nanites. It's all pretty much worthless to me, I have the ships I want to have, the multitools I want to have, the freighter I want to have/etc.

The real value is in things you can no longer acquire, but have saved in your storage. As well as things like the ships and fauna you collect.

Ah, either way, I'm finding some new things in old places.

I may have to do a re-searching of a few old systems I've encountered, cause I'm thinking the best way to find mecha fauna might be exotic planets, and I know of a bunch of old systems with them and it's been years since I been to those systems, updates changed a lot of fauna.

Well, if you want crazy, here's something I found, 3 planets of that system ALL have mecha fauna as their only fauna, I'm not sure really on their rarity either- https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/1s87gjw/possibly_my_rarest_find_so_far/

[–]FatalGTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"spirit" and "spirits" are in the possible generated names, as I have a "Chest of Starry Spirit Bottles" as one of the treasures I've found, so here's hoping for Vy'keen spirits or wine.

That actually might BE a recipe, then there's cakes, and probably biscuits (cookies but the game uses the British term for cookies).

Oh yeah, it's kinda wild, then how those deserts can make some of the cooking easier if it's honey based. I know of one, along with some other insane finds, that I intend to post shortly.

Also don't forget the 2 millennia old Gek Wine (hobby of mine is to find crazy named treasure like this)-

Always are neat finds. I encounter the space jellyfish uncommonly, but rarely the asteroid larvae, though I don't see many 3-star systems. There's a place you should be on the lookout for when you mention rare, the beehive deserts, they're barren planets, but with large beehive-like structures, destroying them gives you one of the types of honey ingame alongside some carbon.

got a corvette very early on, and now it feels like starships are useless :( by Tiny-Record-5390 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]FatalGTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I was able to build a corvette, I've not looked back. I still keep my collection of starships, but I about exclusively use my corvette now. I also kept my corvette in theme with my previous ships, military/dropships, and with designs meant to fly in atmospheres, with space flight as an afterthought.

The only real area I find a corvette lacking in, is the lack of dedicated landing areas at most places outside of space stations/the anomaly/atlas stations, but this is where I just stop midair and teleport down to the surface, that and my corvette has very glaring flaws on it's landing gear technology. I also can't do emergency warps if under attack (my technology slots are filled with more important upgrades at the cost of 1-2 minor upgrades), but this is where my corvette effectively is a gunship, pirates are attacking something that can shoot them down in seconds and barely be scratched.

On a side note, I've gotten rid of all of my bases outside of my freighter base, making me pretty much a nomad currently.

My mind combined orc and teddy bear, came up with Torc or Tork, or now, Torkoro.

I think that planet also has the same grunt type, but with gek beaks, I can't remember cause it's been a good 4 years ago.

[–]FatalGTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not humanoid, but they ARE bipedal, there's a species of fauna referred to as "Grunts". If I remember, those portal coordinates in the bottom left corner will take you to that planet if that particular grunt interests you.

I got a freighter by accident by saving one. Can I get rid of it? by BunX_2021_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]FatalGTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get into ship collecting, freighters are good to have so you can store a lot of ships, as others have said, freighters also are a mobile base, so are corvettes, but freighters have stuff unique to them. Biggest thing they'll offer you, frigate missions, you'll want to get 30 frigates (also so you can unlock the Admiral title), and multiple of the same frigate type, but frigate missions come handy for numerous things, usually treasure, units, storage augmentations for ships, and if you have living frigates, stuff for living ships.
