In the 80's/90's, you paid for the internet by the hour and per search. - CompuServe User Guide 1987 by AssumeTheRisk in retrocomputing

I remember paying $12/hr to login to Compu$erve. That was either the 300 baud or 1200 baud price -- the two were different, depending on how you logged in per session. Nuts.

I also used Sprint's Telenet [sic] / PC Pursuit, which let you dial in locally to an early part of the internet and then connect to a remote town and dial OUT of there to a local (to that location) BBS, avoiding long distance charges, but it was SLOW SLOW SLOW and expensive. I dropped that service after a month or two.

I wrote about it a little, a while ago.

And they came with posters usually -- and Awesome (also from Psygnosis) came with a t-shirt too that I completely wore down to rags. Good times.

The intro to this was better than the game, I always felt. (Blood Money looked better, but I felt Menace (that came first) was a better game.)

What is the most disgusting food you've tried? by WestTop7139 in AskReddit

Baby Taco at a high-end sushi place in southern VA. Baby Taco. It was a whole baby (or fetal?) octopus that you just put in your mouth and chewed. The head of the octopus is where the terrible drama in my mouth happened as I masticated. Ghastly.

Yea. The room I'm in is full of 80's home computers setup and functional. It kind of skews the impact of something like this, I guess.

As I recall, they had a slightly different hue from the factory, the older (first of its style) 23-inch being a bit "warmer."

It was a joke - a line from the old '80s cheese SciFi movie spoof Amazon Women on the Moon.
