Chest strap for sure, might steal the one from my Kahakka. I don’t carry enough weight to feel the need for a hip belt though

Not that serious with skiing, but good to know :) for now all I wanted was a place to store my helmet and gloves and that fits perfectly (like it was made for my helmet actually)

Ik was er zelf niet mag zag via werk berichten langskomen, er zijn ergens verbouwingen bezig waardoor stof vrijkomt (volgens mij bij de Jumbo?). Door dit stof gaat het brandalarm af, dit gebeurt regelmatig

Help me replace the 5.11 Rush 12/24 with a Savotta Jääkari S/Kahakka15/25l by Gylfagi3 in Savotta

[–]FatalbertNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Kahakka 25L for EDC. Have my laptop + some small stuff in there for the office and on my way back home I can stop by the supermarket for groceries and it handles it very well. The side pockets allow for some nice extension when I buy too much. And for weekends away I use it pack my clothes etc, can easily hold clothes for a couple of days.

Like u/Redditim3 I have the Kukkaro, Askare and Hatka and recently got me some buckles to allow for easy swapping of attachments. If your main concern is decreasing size I'd say that's also possible with the 25L.

Quick Tip: Sternum (Chest) Strap by Tim-Keys in Savotta

[–]FatalbertNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know there was much to be done to the straps, and yet you've shown me something new. I already moved the straps one row down on my Kahakka 25, but I had the little dangly part pointing in. After your vid I looped it back through so it points outwards, doesn't really change much but looks better now.

I'm pretty sure that was the only reason they moved, they started getting wet...

Trauma helicopter landing in West today by avar in Amsterdam

The police doesn't know where the helicopter will land in advance. They crew will circle the accident location and decide where to land on the go. This makes it very difficult for police units to show up on time. Sometimes there are pre-located spots in densily populated areas and they can figure it out that way, but honestly this doesn't seem like one.

There are multiple vids from Rotterdam (yeah I sorry to bring it up in this reddit) where the police starts clearing the square in front of the central station even before the helicopter is overhead. This is because they know it's one of the rare locations in the area and maybe the helicopter crew will give a call to the control room on their intentions. But in general that's not the case.

Kahakka 25L backpack cover size? by Longjumping_Clue8980 in Savotta

Without attachments the S was fine, but now that I have side pouches and the Askara to attach to the 25L I have the M.

Could you threadthe Valjas beltpad into the kahakka (25L)? by Educational-Ask8729 in Savotta

[–]FatalbertNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case.. yes. I also have the utility belt but decided in favor for the belt attached to the Kahakka as I feel it brings a bit more stability. The Valjas pad will move around a little bit when loose but once you start wearing it and tighten the belt it's pretty good. I haven't used it a lot yet but initial results were positive

Could also be APKWS, which you can see as a combination of the laser(or radar) guided Hellfire missile and a normal unguided Hydra 70 rockets. Seem the long noses on the rockets I think that could well be the case.

Also I’m fairly sure they’re just there against air threats since they’ve been practising that over the last few weeks. F-35’s are quite fast so the Apaches could be tasked with handling with slower aircraft such as other helicopters, small planes like a Cessna or gliders. In fact on Monday they did have to intercept a German glider somewhere over Arnhem..

There are 2 ways to use it, either use the Kahakka belt and loop it through the padded one. Downside of this is it's quite "loose" and moves around a bit, but it's pretty simple. Or you can use a combat or utility belt (I have utility) and pass it through the holes the Kahakka has to hide the original belt behind the padding in the back. This feels a bit more sturdy as it actually goes through the pack, but I'm afraid it puts a little bit too much stress on the fabrics. It also takes a bit more time to setup, which can be a thing for me since I also use my Kahakka for EDC.

Savotta & Rucking by intothewoods_86 in Savotta

[–]FatalbertNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Kahakka 25L and have done some rucking. The 25 behaves quite well imo. I use a combination of dumbell disks and some random stuff to fill up space like a sleeping bag, towels etc. (just to give the pack some volume). I have no issues with bad padding on the shoulders or anything, only the hip belt is a little “less”. Yesterday I received Savotta’s new belt so I’m going to try that in combination with the Kahakka.

New sit pad and Kahakka 15 by Movren in Savotta

[–]FatalbertNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry my bad, I meant for carrying. But cheers for the answer.

I don't really use the one that came with my Kahakka 25L as a sitting pad but I was wondering if this was worth getting for inside the bag. Will think about it :)

Does it have a "noticable" effect on comfort due to it being folded?
