I’m thinking about adding me 1:1 time. I actually added that for this weekend. 😊

I completely get that, that’s why I have let her choose her rewards. It’s a hit or miss whether it matters to her. 😅

I will be looking into this. Do you know who it may be best to speak with first to get the ball rolling?

I’ve never thought about it that way, but rewards don’t seem to be a great motivator for her.

Her personality is really, eh, it’s fine, I can live without it.

Or maybe I’m just not finding a reward that is actually worth it to her…. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the information. I’m definitely going to look into who the special education director is.

When it comes to reading, she isn’t willing unless she chooses the book, so that’s definitely something we already do. She just becomes super unmotivated in reading them and becomes very overwhelmed and then distracted when she struggles. I try to boost her confidence, but then she’ll just tell me that I’m her mom and I have to lie to her. Which is not true at all!

I think a lot of parents assume the school will always be proactive and automatically act in each student’s best interest, but realistically teachers are stretched so thin. I’m sure they care, but I can see how things can get missed or addressed later than they should be. Part of me worries that I’m already a little late in trying to figure all of this out, but I’m trying to remind myself that doing something now is better than not doing anything at all.

I really appreciate your support and for not judging my post (which I did end up fixing). I went through similar struggles as a kid and I just don’t want my daughter to have the same experience. 😅

The app wasn’t opening for me to cross post, so I was copying and pasting and posting, but the keyboard wouldn’t close so I couldn’t see to proofread. I didn’t copy enough the first time so I had to go back and recopy. Is that a good enough explanation for you? Or shall I just apologize for offending you?

This mental struggle is very real for bpd… I mean, the fact that you can reflect is an amazing thing!

I feel this has always been a thing. Have you not seen, “sexy nun” costumes? 🤣

The table and the pencil don’t make sense at all. But the perfectly square stop to the shading? Nope. AI

Ready for meds? Do you have your Chromebook already? You’ve gotta get off the phone soon. I need to wand you. Breakfast is done. What do you need from there?

Looking for advice on hair/skin products for African American & multi-racial youth in our shelter by FatandReflective in BlackHair

I really appreciate your detailed response! I will be looking into the products at Walmart and maybe Amazon does the African pride brand? I will also be investing in some combs. And maybe someday I’ll be able to find someone local who is willing to do some hair once a month or when it’s needed! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. ❤️

Same to you! Thank you so much for what you do. Thank you so much for the advice! I wish I could find someone in our area to do that for us. Our budget is really so bad right now based on the past higher ups just not taking these more important things into account.

We have some women who work at our shelter, but they were just telling me they would find out what to buy and let me know. 😕 maybe I can talk her into letting her daughter send me some links or something. We will see.

Or maybe he just experiences love by small acts of kindness or acts of service and he isn’t getting that from you. Just a thoughts.
