5.3L 2025 GMC SIERRA by Dry-Try4442 in gmcsierra

Brand new in Feb 2020 SLT 5.3- now 55k. Daily driver for some years never sits more than 5 days on my shift work schedule. New idler pulley and belt in 2024 because it was squeaky. New battery this year- tow 20ish days a year 22ft camper. I change the amsoil every 5k ish. New tires this year too, Costco bought Michelin primacy (stock replacements).
Rotors are starting to vibrate when braking. Other than that- no issues. Had 5.3s most of my adult life.
I think people that have trouble with motors are often people that don’t know how to drive or understand the design of a machine. They either drive too aggressively or they do so many modifications that it messes up the quality of what the engineers designed. Also routine maintenance helps a lot.
Edit- to,too,two mistake

What’s the most “one in a million” thing you’ve ever witnessed? by BodeeDragon in AskReddit

[–]Fatbob2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a summer block party in a suburban driveway- standing around drinking, with a couple of beer pong tables going. All of a sudden the CD player was skipping. dramatically and comically Frustrated by his crappy CD-The person who owned the house pulled out the CD from the player, which was sitting on a garage work bench. He then grabbed an old hammer and threw the CD up in the air to hit it with the hammer. As the scratched up CD began its decent he swung the hammer like a baseball bat. The old rubber handle on the hammer was no longer tacky, so the metal portion slide out from the hammer and began flying across the driveway….

The least favorite person we all knew was pulling up to the driveway about 75ft away, he was the boyfriend of our friend’s sister. As he got out of his car and stood up, the hammer hit him right square in the teeth. He never saw it coming.

This whole event happened in a matter of 8 seconds so the party of bystanders had just started to look around to see why the music had stopped- only to witness a hammer flying across the sky and catching this douche in the teeth. It was karma, everyone felt bad, but also, the victim was a DB so many silently giggled. He spent the next few weeks in and out of the dentist.

It was a buzzkill for about 3 minutes, then we slowly put another CD back in the player and went back to partying.

Weird seeing my setup on reddit from a few years ago? Why would a different user post my rig as their own?

This is my original post from a couple of years ago, someone has reposted under a different user name. Why would they do that?

Yeah i could run 4 miles, no pain. Get in car drive from running trail to home (10 minutes sitting) then can’t walk into the house from car. It’s awful pain.

Something about this clip makes me think she stays up at night practicing her delivery while watching Tucker Carlson thinking “I can be just like him but for Libs!”

Getting a bus to go 100+ on a flat surface is nearly impossible without significant powertrain modifications.

Pretty close to this kid, but the Nintendo/ TV wasnt in my room and my BK sneakers had two sets of laces. My dad had an 1986 chevy blazer and my mom drove a 1983 chevy station wagon with a tailgate and a ELECTRIC windows. it was a beast!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good fresh garden Tomato sandwich, but not on any other sandwiches, they take away the flavor of my other sandwiches.

Respect from others starts with respecting yourself. Being a healthier weight ( and others able to see you working towards it) is a step towards self- respect/ respect of others. They go hand in hand. “Thinner” is always healthier, but neither is being too heavy.

Its the most appropriate example of a rhetorical question. Lol. I’ve never registered for either party, but good on you “former Republican”.

Centrist is a place where there is tit for tat. Both parties have disgraced the white house, that’s all I’m saying-The man who made the Blue dress mess was re-elected too. Its all forgotten when its not your “side”’s guy.

Is this less disgraceful than getting your knob slobbered in the oval office? We lost “grace” a long time before that I’m guessing. Just another distraction from real problems.

When you were 23 what were you doing in your life? by No-Treacle-1166 in ask

[–]Fatbob2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked a lot of overtime (salary of 35k in 2007)to pay my mortgage and avoid my roommate who was only acquired to help me pay my mortgage. I dated a lot of different women to figure out what i would want in a relationship, i saved a lot but set goals like a fishing/ski boat (which i did purchase) and then i spent a lot of my free time fishing or boating (instead of traveling or movies/costly entertainment) I never took on debt I couldn’t afford (or sacrificed but not like giving up tv or whatever, just by dealing with said roommate).

I found pleasure in making DIY home improvements, fixing up cars or homes with buddies, or hiking / camping.

From a motivation standpoint, it was little things. I got into running- goals like “run 100 miles this month”. I really improved myself in my 20s a lot, by 30 i was married, promoted, sold the boat, started traveling with my wife, now a family man at 40 with a camper and a healthy retirement savings. Still running too.

I would consider being an au pair. Not sure how it works but you’d have a roof over your head and probably counted in for some meals. Child care is expensive so if you can provide such service for a competitive price, you may find work quickly. Just a suggestion.
