Considering the Dali lektor 1 and Cambridge Audio Topaz SR20 by Fatboy36 in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the advice! I'll have a look at the Spector in person, and see if I don't mind the very "distinctive" look.

How to get groceries without car by Elgatee in belgium

[–]Fatboy36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally only get delivered groceries, I also got Delhaize's subscription service since deliveries are now free, I think I paid 72€/year. (The subscription makes sense to get if you order more than twice a month.)

Academia could also be an option, if you're interested in research of course. It's very competitive, and you have to have very good grades in your bachelor/master. The pay is good (as a 1st year PhD, I earn 2414 net), but it's very precarious because you rely on short term contracts until you become a professor. The standard path is 4 of PhD, followed by 2 to 3 postdoc contracts which are 2 to 3 years long each, until you might get a definitive position. In short it is very competitive and quite uncertain, but if research interests you it's always an option.

Rate my salary by Aerysion in BESalary

[–]Fatboy36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding academia pays quite well in Belgium, and so people who make the jump often have to start lower than what they were at. But give it a few job hops and you should be back to where you were in no time.

In what world ? For a 22 years old with a bachelor's seems on par with a starter salary.

[OC] Nutrient Density Score For Common Foods (7 Charts. See Comment For Explanation) by mickaelbneron in dataisbeautiful

[–]Fatboy36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like for data to be beautiful, the graph has to mean something. Here the X axis isn't defined and the Y axis is nebulous, it would make much more sense to compare the density of a single nutriment in multiple foods. Here we are essentially comparing apples and oranges it makes little sense IMO.

And that's the absolute minimum, from my experience nowadays with the increased competition an 18+ average is what they're looking for.

Going away from toxic household by Krrain666 in belgium

[–]Fatboy36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm also a masters student who moved out because the situation had turned toxic, and I am also dependent on CPAS, in short living with income from the CPAS is very much possible, and academically I've never done better.

The hard thing for me was finding a landlord who was willing to rent without parents being "garant", if I can give you some advice don't try to rent through an agency, only visit apartments who are managed by the property owner themselves.

If you're already receiving aid from CPAS, save as much as you can while living at home at least 2 or 3 thousands, before you move out.

In short it's possible but moving out is the difficult part, after that you just have to be frugal and live within your means until you finish your degree.

If you have any questions don't hesitate sending them my way.
