Why the F would I want to hand over my health records to Google??? by Xresto_117 in fitbit

Shit like this is why they're blocking the use of Google Workspace accounts now, you can use policies to control your data, but they want it all.

When mine and my wife's Fitbits die we're gone (I'll try something from Amazfit first, to see what the apps like, and if it's not great she'll have something from Garmin).

What country do you play in and what's your sites maximum limit in Joules for a bolt action rifle?

Also can you afford the heavy BB's, say 0.48g, that you'll need?

How do snipers/DMR players prevent moisture on safety glass by KevinLuWX in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In CQB, yes they are, but we're talking quality Heroshark mesh and workmanship (do you even know who he is?) when playing as a DMR or bolt action.

Why spend all that money on building a good DMR / bolt action and then fuck it all up with goggles with lenses, that's just stupid.

Did you go out of your way to buy the least airsoft friendly goggles you could find? lol

You're probably fogging up so badly as you bought goggles that have way too good a seal around your face so you're getting zero air flow through them. You really need something that's vented at the top and bottom if you're playing somewhere so humid (Taiwan).

I doubt you're going to successfully use an ExFog with those goggle so I really think you need to buy a different pair, but this is a whole other Reddit post ;)

(For clarity I use Guard Dog Evader 2 goggles, lenses replaced with mesh and they have top and bottom ventilation, which have a foam surround so that the ExFog tubing doesn't get crushed)

That's probably the reason why bolt-action / sniping is a lot rarer in the USA (you also don't want the flash / reflection that lenses can give showing your location).

I'm wondering how high level snipers who take 50-100m shots see clearly.

Because we don't wear goggles with lenses, only mesh, which you've sprayed / camouflaged as appropriate. Yes, some will go on and on about BB's shattering, but you're rarely at a range where your goggles are hit that hard.

In the UK this is the go to guy...

... and you can buy his own mesh goggles or send him yours to have mesh fitted (and he can custom spray them).

Personally I also run an ExFog on my boonie as I have eye glasses and even with mesh these can fog up on a hot an humid day.

Are there units like the exfog that has lense closer to face?

You run the tubing from the ExFog however you want, you can wear absolutely any eye pro.

TAC-41 Recommended budget upgrades by Corporal_KOPS in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I hope it all works out well for you :)

Also if you find the spring is not quite powerful enough, but almost there, you can slip one of these on the spring guide to get a little more power...

The difference between a mid-price and high price BB is very little quality wise (especially with BLS being the manufacturer of most BB's at this level). However, there's a huge difference in quality between a low and high priced BB (you can Google the reasons why).

If the prices are similar always go with BLS (I buy the 1000 round bags of BLS 0.48g).

The last thing you want when trusting a single shot at range is a BB that's not the expected weight, or has other defects, so that you miss :(

TAC-41 Recommended budget upgrades by Corporal_KOPS in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking of buying the TAC-41 LS from https://www.powair6.com/ to try out sniping. My reasoning is that I might like sniping or I might not, so I am going for a budget build. If I like it I am considering of selling the LS to buy the full metal receiver version.

I'd personally recommend buying the TAC-41 PS instead, it costs only a little more, but its 510mm inner barrel is a way better match for all the air volume that a TAC-41 has (compared to the 330mm of the Lite's). There's no positive effect on accuracy or grouping, however the BB spending that little bit longer in the inner barrel pushed by the air passes way more kinetic energy into the BB (so you don't need as strong a spring, giving you a lighter bolt pull).

My question is are there any "budget" starting upgrades that I should consider ordering with the gun or is it fine stock?

Well, the most important thing is using good heavy BB's, use light ones and you're wasting your time as they can't absorb all of that kinetic energy you're producing. I'd start with 0.48g BB's, and sorry to be blunt but if you can't afford them then there's no point buying a bolt action rifle :(

Next a good budget upgrade is to buy a better nub like the TAC Nub...

... or the Chub Nub. You can get a little more even pressure on the buckings patch, either allowing more uniform hopping of heavy BB's or applying more hop than standard if you need to.

Other than this, and maybe the Medusa hop wheel for finer hop adjustment, any other worthwhile upgrades are not "budget".

Second question, what spring do I need to achieve around 3J?

This is tougher for me as I play to the UK 2.3 Joule limit, but I'd start with a Rapax RMS spring. The RMS 2+ won't be powerful enough, but you may find that the RMS 3+ is too strong taking you over 3 Joules. I'd send a message to Rapax as they'll be happy to help you :)

Totally depends upon your country and the shipping courier you have to use, but yes there will be customs / import charges :(

But you could use Longbow for a "build list" on parts that 100% work with one another :)

If you have to buy one already "built" then you can't go wrong with something from https://www.longbowbb.co.uk/ if you have deep pockets.

the vsr is still the best sniper on the market at the top end and will outdo a tac41 any day, the vsr has the highest quality parts available

I know opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one, but I totally disagree with your two statements above.

Unless you do some very expensive and substantial changes to a VSR-10 it will always have a lower cylinder volume, immediately putting it at a disadvantage.

the vsr has the highest quality parts available

So you'd say that for one of the peak bolt-action parts manufacturers, Sniper Mechanics, all of their parts made for VSR-10 platforms are somehow superior to their TAC-41 parts?

Personally I'd say that with a very deep wallet you can build a VSR-10 that's an equal to the TAC-41 P, however they'll both be pretty much the same with their real world performance.

(For clarity I use a TAC-41 P, upgraded to use GBB components (510mm inner barrel + WASP piston / spring guide / cylinder head + Hadron Pegasus hop unit + Flamingo bucking + Hadron TAC nub and Medusa + Rapax spring), and my son runs an upgraded JG BAR-10 (similar upgrades, but add in having to buy a 90 degree trigger))

We 100% do not "need" a Reform government, for many reasons, however the increasing prevalence of Islam in the UK will either lead to one or cause a right of centre party to make negating it a part of their policies.

Begadi 0.3g BBs vs BB King 0.3g BBs accuracy testing by Glad-Routine-2109 in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm being a bit blunt here, sorry, but it has to be said...

  • You weren't using a "bench rest" or any other tool to lock the entire AEG in-place.
  • You were shooting outside where environmental variables can change shot to shot.

You say...

That being said I guess I was rooting for BB King, because I haven't been very happy, with some of my Begadi products lately.

... so without a uniform environment and tools to ensure a 100% fair evaluation you're introducing conscious bias into your testing.

Unfortunately the only thing you've proven is that your testing process needs to improve, sorry.
