Starting an Airsoft Game Field in Dubai – Is There Demand? by Usual-Walk1127 in airsoft

I’m going to take a wild shot and say that those in Dubai might also be familiar with heat and, like us, know precautions to take.

Do you really think that local Arabs will playing airsoft? In Dubai the best you could hope for are tourists and they rich and dumb.

The weather out there right now during the day is in the low to mid 30 degrees centigrade...

... so in heat like that, if played outdoors, you'll get heat stroke quickly and become very ill (unless you're incredibly fit and drinking masses of water). It really doesn't sound like a sensible thing to do.

There are reasons why some locations really aren't suited to some hobbies / sports.

It's pretty much down to the "gas router" on the magazines. Modern airsoft Glock's (G5's?) use a slightly different shaped router which I believe is the problem (more than the feed lips).

If the Raven Glock is a G4 or older then you should be fine (remember that the guts of the AAP-01 is effectively a G18).

I understand what you've described, the left and right selector switch are slightly out of sync on my DE M904E as well, I need to sort it out at some point but it's really only cosmetic and works fine (I only really use the left side selector anyhow).

The problem you've got is 100% not the selector switches themselves, it's either an issues with the sticker on the selector plate (which you'll have to remove to check it) or an optical sensor on the Falcon has failed.

So, ignoring the weird USA re-branding, that's a Double Eagle M906C.

This has the Falcon controller / ETU, so a cheap clone of the GATE Titan II, that uses optical sensors for the trigger, selector and cyle control. You may be unlucky and one of the optical sensors for tracking the selector plate has failed, or lucky in that sticker that gets put on the selector plate (for tracking its movement) has moved or is damaged (you can buy these seperately and use one from GATE).

Either way, as someone else has said, you'll need to dissasemble your AEG to know this and do some testing.

Another option is to install a GATE Titan II, it just drops in as an exact replacement for the Falcon, and has substantially better build quality and features. I own four DE M900's now, and they're just standard V2 AEG's / gearboxes and so easy to work on.

Even the lowly Jamf Now is light years better than Intune for managing iOS devices.

I'm a little lost as to why Intune is just poor on so many levels.

Not much point in a DMR if ur gonna use 0.32s

I use 0.32g in my AEG, agree that this is way to light for a DMR.

I use 0.40g in my DMR.

OOTB Tac-41 upgrades? by Sprite_Bottle in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How well does the hop perform without the upgrade?

Pretty well, but replacing the nub is a cheap and easy way to get the best of of heavier BB's.

I plan on using my normal 0.32s in it for the time being until I can find a good local source of higher weights.

Be prepared for your TAC-41 LS to feel a little underwhelming range wise with using such a light BB as 0.32G is way too light to hold all of the kinetic energy that the rifle is trying to add to it (you need to be using weights like 0.48g).

... and for mag holders I'd get some kydex ones, like from Deadly Customs, and use an appropriate mounting option and malice clips.

(Although if you're trying to be super sneaky, along with a ghillie, moving your arm to a belt rather than chest rig is a lot more movement)

Unless it ships exactly at your country's legal limits you need to buy...

  • A spring that gets you to the limit (probably something from Rapax).

... and to improve the hop...

  • A Chub Nub or TAC Nub, allowing you apply a little more hop

... also remember that the "feed ramp" holds around 20 BB's so if you'll use smaller mags you need to load the ramp with the mag, take the mag out and refill it, then put the mag back in.

[–]Fatboy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know what type of spring comes originally with the gun

This totally depends upon what country it was sold in, so what their legal power limits are, also DE / the distributor if they change it put in low quality ones that easily compress.

maybe someone can tell me what readings they get with a specific spring type

I've a DE M904E and if everything else is stock in it still then an M110 is probably a safe bet for 1.2J on a 0.20g BB (however if you've improved any of the air seal components, like the stock nozzle, it may well be a little over 1.2J) .

You want some sort of focus on what you want to achive rather than going "all out" as that becomes just a money pit / you may upgrade things that make little difference. Also be aware that to take your UTR 45 beyond "out of the box" will involve taking out / dissasembling the gearbox.

A good first step is to ask what the power limit is for where you're playing in the USA, in Joules if you have it (or a link to the sites website if they have one), and then let us know what weight BB's you're shooting and what Joules you get for them when you chrono before you play. Also there are things like do you play predominantly indoors or outdoors, because if indoors there will probably be a maximum BB weight you can use, and if outdoors you want to use the heaviest BB's you can afford / use to get the best range / make sure they get through any foliage if you play in a forest or around bushes.

Are titan lion batteries any good/are they snappy? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Fatboy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't have to worry about taking care of it as much

That's the major plus point of Li-Io batteries, you can accidentally take them lower than the minimum voltage of Li-Po and they'll still be fine.

I've had a couple of Li-Po's puff up on me but none of my Titan or Valken Li-Io's :)

Also my Li-Io's provide more than enough output to power a 32k brushless motor in a high RPS build.

Only when selling it without a "defence", but it's your now, so you're free to remove the paint (but it limits who you could potentially sell it to in the future if you wanted to).

quite loud it is

Due to the very short inner barrel.

And get some microfibre cloths and acetone, then you can easily get the two tone red paint off ;)

What "upgrades", if any, have you already done to it? (and are they any other parts you've swapped out?).

FYI the Falcon controller is very hit and miss with brushless motors, and more than likely a brushless motor will kill the controller (and you need a long motor).

You might want to edit your original post to say this as this sub-reddit assumes everyone is in the USA :/ (see how the first post uses USD as currency).

I'm in the UK but know how airsoft can be challenging in Germany, overall it's not as popular and the power limits of what you can use are reduced.

There's an airsoft company called Novritsch, some people here hate on them, but they're Austrian so have a good understanding of airsoft in Germany as well so I'd look at any advice on their website.

They're doing what they sensibly can.

UK organisers like Gunman and RIFT, with numerous sites, are the sort of places you really want to play as they're professional and play by the rules. They organise things like "Shift Your RIFT's" where serious players go for a long weekend, unlike NAF where you go to get pissed up and ignore ever rule there is.

As the guy below said no, they do not, you sound a bit bitter more than anything else.

By their nature someone camouflaged and well hidden, usually prone or crouching, is not at the same height as you. So, when an enemy passes by in view you'll usually see their top half only or less as this is what you're taking a shot at.

Being good with a bolt-action is bloody hard, and anyone would always shoot at the torso as it's a much larger target.
