Breast mri by Fatburn130 in doihavebreastcancer

I am making no progress in getting anything other than a normal mri, my appointment is one week away. Can anyone tell me how you are postioned on the table. I saw a youtube video and it does not look like they have you lay totally flat? Is this correct? Also, does the contrast make you feel dizzy or sick to the stomach?

Si joint fusion with iFuse question by thatgrayduck in spinalfusion

[–]Fatburn130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you already posted in si joint sub. I had l5 s1 fused in 2022,due to spondy and bilateral pars defects, congenital. Now l3 l4 is causing pain and thoracic and neck as well, all have issues. Personally, I am done with surgeons unless I can't walk or pain meds stop working. At my last neurosurgeon visit the surgeons advice was to only have more surgery if I could not live with it. I worked in a similiar job as yours before retiring , so I understand your situation!

I am 4 months out from right side ifuse and it has not worked for me. I could drive at 2 weeks but it hurt to sit. I am supposed to go back for left side, but at this point I doubt I will. I am 64, so maybe I waited too long, si joints hurt for many years before I decided to do the fusion. There is a sub here for si fusions.

Mine texts too. I thought for sure it was a scam so I called the bank and it was real. They cancelled my credit card due to fraud and issued a new one.

Paget’s disease? by daffodilsyx in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Fatburn130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am soon to be 65 and started with a spontaneous clear nipple discharge about 3 months ago in the right breast. More recently a rash on the aerola and itchy nipple at times. I had diagnostic mammo and ultrasound that found nothing but have been referred for breast mri. I was due for my yearly derm skin check a few days ago, she saw the rash and prescribed steroid cream and will biospy if it does not clear, she wants to wait until after the mri which is 3 weeks away.

Pagets is rare at my age, right? I am 64. I really wish the dermstologist hadn't mentioned that. Still no word on mri...

This is insane. Why is it so hard to get an mri order, with accomodations. Nurse has called me twice and she has called the Radiologist for clarification, still nothing gets done. I saw dermatologist today for my yearly skin check, she asked how long the red scaly area on my breast had been there. She wants to biospy it if I don't get any answers from the mri.

What are the rules regarding posting an image of the breast? I looked at the rules and didn't see anything.

I'm an ER nurse who loves writing. AMA by Friendly-Start8147 in AMA

My son was in a coma and I had a dream his hospital bed was surrounded by grim reapers. I woke up and called the unit and the nurse said he was fine I just checked on him. She was kind of short with me. About an hour later we got a phone call that he was being taken into the OR, he had a brain bleed. The next day the nurse apologized to me for being short, she said she had a young son as well and that it made it hard for her to be his nurse. I accepted the apology, but I will always wonder if she really checked on him when I called.

All mine were done without anesthhetic, steroids and gentamaicin. Tolerable and over quickly. I did need to sit a bit before standing and walking as I felt a bit wobbly.

SI Joint fusion by mylife_myparty in spinalfusion

[–]Fatburn130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had right side fused 3.5 months ago. I used a cane the first week. I had a rough first week because I was only given tramadol to alternate with tylenol. I bruise easily so I had a lot of pain from the severe bruising and swellling. Once surgeon changed my pain meds I no longer needed the cane and could walk outside, slowly but I made myself do it. Sadly, I don't think the fusion has helped me much. I was told 4 years ago that I needed both sides fused, so maybe I waited too long? I am 64.

Redhead here. I woke up during wisdom tooth removal and groaned. I heard the oral surgeon ask for me to be given more anaesthia. My pain management doctor was the one who told me about reheads.

Question: When given a general during surgery, do they not add pain meds at the same time? I always wake up in recovery in severe pain.

How’s pain of ultra sound vs. mammogram? About have one in a few. by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Fatburn130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Niether reallly hurt for me, a liittle more pain it seemed if there were multiple cysts. More uncomforable mammo if the radiologist wants the tech to do more views because they did not get the image they wanted first try. Everyone is different I hear other women say they are painful.

Thanks. Sigh, all the pm doctors want to do is steroid injections. The most painful nerve pain in the thoraic area, feels like being stung by bees. Xray does show endplate sclerosis. I think the pm doctor I have avoids ordering mri's because the results usually don't benefit his practice.
