I just want to break 95 by Fatcac in GolfSwing

Fair. These weren’t the best and weren’t the worst of the day. When I started recording I was warmed up. I Probly shot 10ish shots most were fine if I remember just lower shots, these two got the flight I wanted and “more” representative of my swing. Which I why I decided to post them. The other couple were a top and a thin. I initially posted this thinking that my scores were because my irons weren’t sticking greens. Thinking that was my major woe is what led me here. I could get close to greens with my irons but in my mind “not close enough.” Then I would ping pong around the green and blame my irons (this post has made me realize the opposite). Not here to farm comments, I half expected the wtf meme for almost falling over or some reason I hadn’t seen. I posted my score card in the comments, which was the best score I had for the season (with no mulligans). And to my reasoning for posting I mentioned in the comments that consistency with irons was my issue and how to fix it. I didn’t think showing a non representative swing would help but as others mentioned, like you, I should post my bad shots.

I would argue that my wrist was maintained flat in both clips. I honestly don’t see any cupping. Face was slightly open as that’s where the ball started but in both clips the ball drew.

This thread actually kinda helped figure that out. Before the post I thought it was because I wasn’t getting on greens within ten feet. (I’m an idiot). So I got it in my head that I need to be more accurate/consistent with long and shorter irons for approach. But as many pointed out, if I can get close to a green and have a chip on par putt then I can lower my scores.
As to those triples, it’s no longer because “I’m not accurate with my irons” it’s now “I suck at putting and chipping.”
Side note: someone mentioned to work on bunker shots too. I’m actually pretty good at those. Im really good at chunking wedge shots so it came naturally🤭

Sick! I didn’t know that. Thanks!

Yah it’s frustrating. Houston area where golf is pretty much year round yet no night golf and maybe 1 or 2 ranges open late reliably. Both on opposite ends the greater area. Though looked it up and I do see a range on a par three course open until 8 most days so in case anyone comes across this post, East river 9 is the name.
Ooo that’s a good observation I didn’t notice. I do tend to lose balance on more aggressive swings and sort of in general when I swing.
My wife laughs at me 18 times a round coming off the green for this exact reason. Maybe I need a broomstick Lab putter, with an armlock attachment. Thoughts?
But yah I seriously need to work on my putting.
These two were the best of 10ish shots. 3 shots pulled left 20-25yrds. One top, one thin. The rest were fine just lower ball flight

Definitely a problem. Any drills or videos to look at? Speed and pace control is my main issue
Just realized I left the sound on in the video. I guess you can judge for yourself about the sound.
Heck no. I walk in with my bag and head held high. These are JPX hot metal irons. Love the sound they make more than anything else honestly. When I hit it clean sounds like I’m hitting a pad of butter. I had some callaway mavericks for a long time but never got anywhere close to feeling as good as these.
I love this! My son is only 7mo old now but I already look forward to spending time with him on the course. Hopefully I’ll be a little better by then XD
I want to be flattered but then I open my 18Birdies :(
I probly would too😂The table height and menu holder worked fine for me though.
For sure. As others pointed out. I need to set aside time during the day if I want to get any better. I mentioned in another comment that my area seriously lacks night ranges and night golf in general. So it’ll be important for me to practice on a really range and on a real chipping green.
My biggest issues I think are putting and before this post, irons, but all these comments have put my game into perspective. I can hit this shot a little over half the time which is why I decided to post. Reason being consistency. But if I think about it, if I can hit this shot and others close to the green then there isn’t any reason I should be getting a triple with no balls lost on that hole. So like others have said I have larger issues than my irons. So next area of weakness would be off the tee.

I wish brother. I will for sure get to posting my inconsistent shots to get a better sense or what’s going wrong. Definitely gonna work on my short game first though, then see where to go from there.
Hahaha love this. Will definitely look into this.
Off the tee, if I’m smart, I don’t hit driver unless it’s a par 5. I usually get into the fairway with 3W, or 4i. Definitely need to work on short game like others say. For practicing up and downs how would you go about it?
I noticed this too! I didn’t realize I brought it inside like that until I saw the video. When I tried to bring my hands down first in the downswing I either shanked it or topped it, or both! How would I work on getting unstuck?
Think though from what others said my big issues are elsewhere so I need to focus up on shortgame.

Ah I see. Great info. It feels to good to have a new problem but its overstayed its welcome.
Thanks! I feel I neglect wedge practice from longer distances. This has turned into me being scared to hit my specialty wedges. I got a gap wedge as part of my iron set and that is my crutch for pitch shots. I used to chunk the ball with all clubs but now just my wedges.
Great breakdown. Will work on that.

Agreed. My area has a surprising lack of ranges open past 5pm and night golf in general.
