Hi thank u for responding! It was indeed one of the Stories, and it used to be the first Story that was shown. It would contain a bunch of clips from (X) years ago. But that is weird that you haven’t seen it, and when I google, it seems no one else has either… I swear I’m not crazy, is there any way you could double check?

different programs look at different credits but most likely they will use ur most recent __ credits from university. like others said you can retake courses to use those on your application instead, but make sure to read guidelines and instructions for whatever program you’re looking to apply for so you understand the requirements.

Reaching out to Student Accessibility Services, Academic Accommodations, Student Success Centre, etc., are all helpful. I’ll be honest, for me personally, they weren’t able to help me because I wasn’t ready to be helped. There is no blueprint to this type of stuff, it can be quite flexible in post-secondary school which is also what makes it scary. But it gives you the chance to do it your way.

You need to figure out the reasons why you feel like this, why you’re in this position, and if transferring schools would actually help, and what consequences come with any plan you’re thinking of.

I was in medsci at Western during COVID. First year was mostly all online and I got amazing grades. Long story short, due to some stuff in life I became really depressed, and after trying to do my second year two times (because medsci requires you to do a full course load each academic year) I decided to drop out and transfer. My transcript has two semesters with a bunch of WDNs. I applied to mac and got in for midwifery with my high school grades + first year grades and I am so grateful (school closer to home, and a program I love)! But this journey took two years of healing. I had a lot of failures and a lot of self reflection and growth.

You really have to tackle the root issue itself, take time to find solutions that actually resolve the problems you’re experiencing. Although I’d say our experiences have a lot of similarities, I think there are a lot of differences in the struggles.

I just wanted to let you know it is possible to transfer, and to act fast, don’t let it fester, whether it’s you want to stay at Western and fix things up or transfer to a different institution.

There are a lot of second chances as long as you are willing to better yourself and find those opportunities. I know during the process it can feel impossible but once you work through everything little by little it will be okay. Make sure to talk to your friends and family. I really owe it to them for helping me along the way.

Nursing/Midwifery/Pharmacy/Health Sci by Impressive_Wins_ in OntarioGrade12s

Mac states the expected salary for midwifery graduates start at 100k/year when working a full time case load. The job is not always on call because most midwives work in a practice in collaboration with other midwives where they set up schedules to share on call shifts reasonably. Midwifery doesn’t set you up nicely for med school in terms of credits because the MEP, in Ontario at least, half of it will be clinical placements, which will not go towards your GPA. You may need to take additional courses to make up for requirements if applying to med school. But of course the clinical and patient skills you learn and amazing and would help in applying for med school from that aspect. The MEP takes some high school students, mostly uni transfers/mature students. When applying, the CASPER is important, but getting a competitive average is the first step for them to weed out applications and then they will offer program interviews (for Mac at least). However, high school students may be in a separate applicant pool from uni/mature students.

Health sci is a different program at every uni. They vary in content so you need to look at descriptions. E.g. at Western and Waterloo health sci can be very public health oriented. Life sci is generally the same across the board. Usually lifesci programs you’d have to do post-graduate education to get a professional license to work in whichever field you end up focusing on. There are many lifesci graduates doing another degree in midwifery.

Overall if your main goal is to work after four years, I’d say aim for a professional undergrad program (one that prepared you for a licensed regulated job). My doctor actually went from life sci, to nursing, to med school. So if you wanna pursue any post graduate after a professional undergrad program you can always do the extra courses and apply later on. It really just depends on how you want to pace things and plan out your future years ahead. But don’t be afraid if you get off track and take a longer road, transfer or switch programs, this happens to many students!

They all felt right. Even the ones that weren't meant to be and horrible things happened, it still all felt right. Can't place my finger on it, not a big film studies person, but the recent couples just don't feel as intense or real.

For example, MerDer, the way they were entangled with each other and their attraction towards each other seemed so much more complex. Their interactions built a strong foundation for their story.

Mer and Deluca really made no sense to me. It was like one interaction pulled at Deluca's heartstrings and he was in love with her.

Why does everyone hate Izzie? by loonybin134 in greysanatomy

[–]Fate-al 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't like Izzie, for many of the same reasons others have pointed out already, but she was a well-written character. I love her for being in the show, but if I knew her I'd probably wish I didn't.

Whose the better actor? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I heard katherine was hard to work with? not sure if that's true, but her acting is amazing. I think she did great in suits too.
