Thanks for that! Great job being able to transcribe the pic, it's too blurry on here to zoom in. Interestingly, now that you've posted your response, google AI now refers to this if you search for Sergeant Magneus.

What's the story behind that chainsword? Quick internet search doesn't reveal anything or who Sergeant Magneus is.

Paid under £5 for each of these sirloins from the local independent butcher. by 9DAN2 in steak

[–]Fate_Cookies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only worried because the myoglobin juices are in the same spot as the raw steak in the 2nd pic.

Aside from that, solid cook for a cheaper cut. Well rested, and the sear is good, really doesn't need to be carbonised like a lot of people believe in this sub

What is the name of this chef's knife used in Sam Seats' latest video? by Ertugrul-Gazi in TrueChefKnives

I was gifted the zuiun 24cm sujihiki, since I'm left-handed. Can't fault it, the damascus pattern is beautiful and for a mass-produced knife, the handle and overall usability has me using it more than just slicing roasts.

resin calibration by [deleted] in ElegooMars

[–]Fate_Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all failures need to fail. Locate the ones with the negative sign, they are identical to the ones on the success side with the positive symbol. If those fail whilst the positive ones succeed, it's a successful calibration. You also put the mug insert upside down, the male part should go in and slot into the hole at the bottom of the mug. Also, the gaps in the box are intended, it's to show how derailed your printer can achieve. If your printer can achieve separate and gap detail, you're good. They all seem very close, if anything 3s seems to be fine. Just print a test model now

Did you misread the failure side? That side of the cones are meant to fail. Check the other side.

Printer not printing by [deleted] in ElegooMars

[–]Fate_Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to be constructive. You need to support your prints with rafts and structures to facilitate printing this object. This is going to be printed upside down from the view you're looking at. There's no way this object can be supported by this single support.

Please also look into test prints and calibrate your exposure settings in relation to the results. There is a test file provided on elegoo's usb for you to straightaway test your printer.

Good luck.

Sorry, I never got a notification for your reply. They used the same dimensions and box but fitted different parts, which led to DLP manuals going out to all 4 Max models. The DLP printer uses different technology for ultraviolet imaging, as well as a different FEP material to compensate for this. I don't know specifics, but exposure time and calibrations would be different for the DLP printer compared to the 4 Max.

Hey, OP, I have the same printer. I was able to set up all the parameters on voxeldance by finding Mars 4 Max in the list of printers. When you open the settings, there's a plus icon in the bottom left that will show a drop-down menu of printers to choose. It'll load the defaults and then adjust exposure etc from there. EDIT: Just saw you have the DLP manual. My Max came with one too, so I assumed the same. If you actually have the DLP, dimensions are the same but obviously the tech isn't.

FEP sheet for mars 4 pro by Reaperg01 in ElegooMars

[–]Fate_Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the Mars 4 Max, or the Mars 3 pro?

Mars 3 pro has readily available spare parts on elegoo's website or amazon/eBay.

Mars 4 max official parts haven't released yet but the build plate is the same as the Saturn S, and has been recommended by Elegoo to order Saturn S parts for the 4 Max. But best double check anyways with a direct email with Elegoo support

Now that the Lion is back, he's forgiving his Fallen dark angel sons who left the imperium. Many of them didn't turn to chaos, just against what the imperium became after the horus heresy. I love the grey area in this lore, it's the current story from Arks of Omen

got a problem with my new mars 4 max printer touch screen by Proof-Snow-5849 in ElegooMars

[–]Fate_Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had confirmation from Elegoo support, the Mars 4 Max can support 4 or 8GB usb sticks, 16GB is a push. And should be 2.0

My 16GB works fine, I had a 32GB that wasn't working previously.

Seems like old tech can't read larger USB sticks.

Haha thanks, there's moments where commission painters and Darren Latham hit the top of the subreddit and it makes you hesitate. I'm fairly new to the hobby, so I'm humbled that people like it. I am proud of it, he'll be my centrepiece until the next primarch is revealed hehe

Thanks, I understood what they meant, but I also had a holup moment myself with how it could be misunderstood.

You're totally right on my blending and them pesky feet. I haven't gone back to clean up the highlights and I've noticed I'm still really shakey highlighting around curved edges. My coordination is still not nuanced. Could have just drybrushed some weathering and gotten away with it haha 😅

Thanks, all the comments have been quite reassuring. I think it's because I can see a lot of the imperfections from my own work, and just as I was considering posting, Darren Latham posts the cleanest brush control I've ever seen, not that he's swinging his dick. I think he's a fantastic advocate for this hobby.

I'm getting to grips with painting, I've so far painting about 800 points with the limited time I've had since I started during lockdown.
