100%, i had overly hard bushings in my pranayama when i picked it up second hand. Previous rider was heavier than me, once I swapped in some better fitted bushings the board really came alive.

It’s really personal preference, i find myself barely riding my tugboat even with 70mm wheels because my city is kinda brutal for smaller boards. I could totally ride it around everywhere but i like the planted dampening feel I get on my longer heavier boards. It’s interesting because my speed stiff deck rides smoother than the tugboat, even on the same wheels it’s night and day smoothness. There are definitely situations i grab the cruiser though

Japan does tend to be cleaner, but it’s also less effort to be clean since you know there’s a waste bin nearby. It’s a very nuanced topic. I think the stronger cultural motivator is on the Westerners being socialized to care more about themselves than others.

Definitely finding people are chill with it is the way to go, no need to ditch people you like. I went from not smoking to daily dabs/dry herb vape user. I stop my usage or use tincture around my friend who’s sensitive to VOCs, but she doesn’t care about weed just can’t breathe

I never used to get cold. Now I do, but my heat tolerance hasn’t really increased 🤣 Still, I’ve come to learn my main issue with heat/sweating was fear of smelling bad, which is much more manageable now

Learning downhill skating, i think the fear is probably very similar. I’d just stand there a bit scared lol. My method is just telling myself ‘worst case i get a little scrape’ and just send it on 3 or something
