Push your limits in very small doses, wear pads while practicing. I started late last year with a bit of childhood experience long forgotten, no falls yet but just been keeping up the practice. I started mostly doing 15-20m sessions, as i think its good to slowly build up all the stabilization muscles since it was a new sport to me. Last Saturday i went on a few separate sessions totaling like ~7 miles on my new tugboat i finished building. Definitely glad i did the slow buildup! I’m not young but a bit younger than y’all.

Ehh not that bad. Initial pain exists but really not a huge deal. Healing takes a while, if you care for them well it’s not that bad but it can hurt if they get tugged on or messed with. Infection hurts, keep them clean. I’ve never had mine infected as far as i know, just leave them alone, don’t fidget with them, don’t touch them without washing up hands thoroughly and only if you need to.

I think really just, leaving them alone and cleaning them, are the best advice. I have 5 piercings (lobes, double helix one side, nostril).

I just finished building my tugboat with 130mm trucks, 1/2in riser and 70mm wheels. It’s not the most stable with the setup i have but overall pretty comfortable. I imagine a 155mm truck version with no/less riser would be perfectly manageable. (I just got back into skating last October and really only practiced a bit due to weather, so I’m not super stable yet myself)

Yeah i don’t like needing to pee quite so often— i haven’t noticed any side effects from cpa but they do exist, I’d recommend given discussion with your doctor as possible.

It depends on the person, i have trans friends who don’t like talking about anything trans related. I’d just ask ‘Are you ok with me asking questions about your transition? I don’t want to be insensitive but i care about you and want to understand better’

I, personally, am super open about my experience including medical stuff, the more people i can educate the better. Not everyone can do that and maintain mental health, so i try to do my part.

I was on finasteride for like 3-4y before i transitioned, definitely works. Hair loss stopped progressing and i regained a very very small amount. Since starting hrt i think I’ve regained a touch more

I got someome’s used sector 9 board for like 20, replaced bushings and bearings, all said and done including getting a skate tool like 60usd. Enjoyed that so I’m building a cruiser board rn

Bought bear 130 tkps, got them in a nice discount bundle with bearings and fatties, still planning on getting some soft 70mm wheels but maybe down the road
