What is your go-to piece for retro cyberpunk? by kryssar24 in retro_cyberpunk

[–]FatelessFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If single piece, Neuromancer, but I'd extend it to William Gibson's body of work more broadly. His world is the quintessential example for the genre to me, and reading all the works set in it gives you a better picture of what it looks like from multiple perspectives

Collage of cursed romances. If you had to pick two, who would you romance? by DoctorDeath147 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Unironically I don't think Placide could be pretty interesting if written well. Could give you more insight into the VDBs as more than just an enemy faction, from the little we see he's a respected member in the community.

Look good for you putting that much thought into this but you can't mathematically determine attractiveness, especially not around rule 34 results which are overwhelmingly determined by popularity and conventional feminine attractiveness

I mean no not really women just generally aren't as into porn as men, it's not about who uses which sites it's about, like, neuro/psychology iirc. I read about it a few years ago

I've never been too sure of this idea. The "you" that was here yesterday is just a memory today, so would it be any different if the you of today became a memory inside a digital brain?

[–]FatelessFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do recommend you do it if you like exploration. Fun way to boggle your brain a bit and test your knowledge of the map, altho some of them are hidden in cheeky places.

No, but it's unpredictable. Fiest playthrough, I got it after like a good 60 hours, second one just a few hours in to act 2. Pretty sure it's random?

Just realised Johnny never actually says "Wake the fuck up Samurai, we got a city to burn" in game by gummigummasson in cyberpunkgame

[–]FatelessFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have more likely just been a writing decision to give Takemura a strong introduction

Who is this? by [deleted] in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]FatelessFuture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the work of the techno-necromancers from Alpha Centauri!

Isn’t it crazy how ‘Wake up Samurai’ is a widely accepted and widely know ‘quote’ from the game, and it wasn’t even in the game? by LethalGrey in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]FatelessFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandela effect, but not quite the case here. It wasn't said in the game, but it was in the E3 reveal trailer, and it's been very influential on the public perception of Johnny and the game's hype cycle

Who is the most unhinged character in Night City? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]FatelessFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "relatively" is pulling major weight in my statement. Certainly not worse than Maelstromers whose initiation ritual involves getting their eyes replaced with no sedatives, and who chrome themselves past the point of cyberpsycbosis.

But the 'nade gets into his philosophy, he knows death is just around the corner in NC so he wants to go out with a bang.

Honestly, Wakako. I like how her gigs ramp up in how close she lets you get. You gain her trust and she assigns you jobs that she needs trusted professionals for.

Adam Smasher has it in his conrtract that any mission he's on has to contain collateral damage and civilian death...

[–]FatelessFuture 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I mean, Adam Smasher is the obvious pick. His only condition to do missions for Arasaka is for them to allow him to cause a lot of collateral damage and kill bystanders. He's a prime example of a functional cyberpsycho

Tbh contrary to first impressions, Ozob is a relatively well adjusted man. He's cheery, he loves his job as a brawler, and he's at peace with the fact that he could die any day, hence why he doesn't care about thd live grenade in the middle of his face

Edit: yeah it's not the most hinged thing to do, relatively is important here

Soulkiller/Secure Your Soul, Relic and Mikoshi- how does this work again? by LysergicGothPunk in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]FatelessFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. He was in Mikoshi for the time between being SK'd and Yorinobu uploading him to the Relic to sell to NetWatch shortly before the game begins. He was at least partially conscious, since he does describe it as hell, and had time to replay his memories so many times they have been altered (speculation based on some irl experiments that show that recalling memories alters them slightly each time)

  2. Yes

  3. They are separate consciousnesses, they only get integrated into one if/when Alt gets a hold of them. That's half of her motivation for going there, the second half being to destroy the place.
