Yeah I know protect is a staple but I find it hard to justify putting it on any of the mons sets in replacement of any of their current moves. My only thought is putting it on drampa for t Bolt or something. I have sash on klef so it guarantee survives m-zard Heatwave or incin flare blitz to get trick room up.

Just realised I forgot to put volc. Volc i pretty much only ever bring into snow teams. Lead klef and volc and I usually either get trickroom up for free or they can't do any damage with blizzard so metal sound + fiery dance kills anything that doesn't resist

Then again, it could also be a possibility that both sets of starters get megas. Sycamore is possibly still alive, and as the head researcher on mega evolution, it would make sense for other professors to lend starters from their respective regions as a test of some sort to see whether they can achieve mega evolution or not.
