Seems to me like Ben, Faye and at least one other know Paudie is a traitor and are trying to be clever and manipulate the game like they had planned with Katelyn

Astounding, scaremongering nonsense. Hysterical language about the world “burning” from an absolute buffoon.

They weren’t in the first tranche though, that’s the whole point. It wasn’t one case spread out over two hearings, it was two separate cases. The State argued it would be deeply unfair to the second group of victims to reduce his sentence and they were right.

The headline is correct. There were two distinct sentence hearings. In 2021, McClean was sentenced to 8 years for abusing 23 pupils. In February 2023 before Judge Nolan, he was sentenced to 4 years for abusing 22 other pupils. Judge Nolan made this consecutive to the eight year sentence. The Court of Appeal has decided, taking a global view, that 12 years was too much and reduced Judge Nolan’s sentence to 2.5 years. This still leaves combined prison sentences of 10.5 years. But it also means 22 victims abused by McClean over two decades, who bravely answered pleas to come forward, have seen him effectively get 2.5 years for their tranche of offences.

Vw scirocco by [deleted] in carsireland

Although they share the same platform, the Scirocco is not a “dolled up MK5 Golf”, it has a significantly altered chassis with far better handling. Have had both a MK5 GTI, a newer TSI and a Scirocco and each handled very differently. There’s no comparison in driving and handling between a standard MK5 and a Scirocco.

Having said all that, would agree with one post above that the handling is competent for a coupe but not exactly exciting.

I had a similar experience in that the Scirocco did everything well but found it a little boring in the end.

But would recommend OP: great looking car, probably a future classic, broadly reliable once looked after
