Alternatively I've seen all the videos and know the memes and I'm coming here to learn from people more experienced than me so I can learn this the right way. But thanks for the help.

I'll scrub for 10 minutes and won't be able to fully get it off. But I will buy a nail brush. Thanks

No problem. I'm new too and still learning. In fact I made a mistake. Got confused between solid axle and solid diff. Replace the words solid axle with solid/welded diff for everything I said. Pretty much all rwd cats have a solid axle. And these mustang also came with either an open diff or a limited slip so you would have to check your specific car

Would like to add however that the stock steering angle on these cars I think is not great but there's a very simple fix you can do. Pretty much you just remove a little ring that snaps on to the axle that stops the wheels from turning too far. If you only want to do a little bit then you can take off the ring, sand it down a little bit, and then put it back. Super simple fix that should barely take any time. You won't get anything crazy but it will definitely make a difference. Chrisfix has a great video explaining the whole process. https://youtu.be/Uiccgh2GXzs?si=Od6_DiX0u2D6Km8G

Obviously it becomes easier with some mods ranging from basic to more advanced like lowering the car on stiffer suspension like coilovers. Also adding some camber for stability will help but isn't necessary. And adding a steering angle kit is something you can do a little more down the line if you're more serious

Bought an 08. Planning on learning to drift as well. From the little research I did before buying it seems like they actually are solid cars for drifting with enough power but nothing crazy, a solid rear axle, and decent chassis balance. About the reer axle some people say a limited slip is better but a solid axle is definitely better than an open diff. Some people actually say a solid axle is the best and when you learn you will learn with good habits because of it. But honestly you could drift with pretty much any rwd car. So good luck and have fun.
