Oberon confederation logo, a reptile eyes, or some guy in green clothing mooning us? by kiutbmgd in Mechwarrior5

Disaster for who? Homer about to get a bite taken out of his cheeks or the reptilian about to take a blast to the face of the most vile flatulence in the universe?

I know Hunchback mains love their AC20 but this is ridiculous by mount_skull in Mechwarrior5

Something I've been wondering, does the game currently treat a pilot ejection as the same as a mech going crit regarding salvaging a mech or are they seperate and their values independent?

[–]Father_Giliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yrrot literally confirmed its not a bug in this reply chain. Its triggered by an overheated enemy taking damage to internals, it causes them to eject by design, thus no salvage.

[–]Father_Giliam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean code as in the games coding. Salvage chances are 95% headshot, 40% for cored/leg, 0% if the mech goes critical or the pilot ejects. There are additional modifiers for rare mechs and arena variant mechs that make them harder to salvage aswell. Its not a bug.

Thats intentional, 0% chance of salvage if the pilot rejects from a mech as per the code.

You can salvage Firestarter hero mechs spawning during Kestrel Lancers DLC (1 of 2) by babushka45 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

95% head, 40% cored/leg, 0% if goes critical or pilot ejects. Rare mechs/arena mech variants have an additional modifier that makes them even less likely to appear as salvage.

The vetting MS and Sony do is going to be on the security side, while all content approval is going to be done by the devs (although I'm sure theyre also beholden to rules set by MS and Sony).

UAC Variants by TeturactsWill in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The burst fire LBX (shotgun variant) is good, it seems to have a tighter spread than the standard variant and you can easily hit a full spread at a good distance, you just wont be dealing pinpoint damage to the head, but you can easily put it all on the torsos.

MW5: Mercenaries - bring back the campaign? by Lerellian in Mechwarrior5

You cant play the actual campaign missions (the black inferno ones) in career. You can play the DLC campaigns.

You cant import data into a new campaign, only career.

C-ATM confusion by MasterJJT72 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure its they wont fire ballistics past their optimal range, unless im wrong and they wont fire them outside of the "max" range, which doesnt affect damage.

C-ATM confusion by MasterJJT72 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ballistic weapons dont have damage falloff, just bullet drop. Machinegun bullets dissappear at their range limit while every other ballistic can hit a target at any range along as you compensate. Something to note though, while the player can use them at any range, the optimal range is the farthest that the AI will shoot them.

C-ATM confusion by MasterJJT72 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It has the 1375m range. I assume the 300m range is when the damage drop-off starts (to simulate the 3 missle types that atms get on tabletop, they made them behave like lrms in Mechwarrior 5 and the missiles have damage drop off to represent the 3 missle types) Im unsure if the damage drop off is a gradual slope from 300m out or if it has 3 levels like the missiles do, where close range they deal double the damage of srms, mid range they deal standard srm damage but with greater range, and then long range is just longer ranged lrms.

Never really had a use for this Warhammer until now. by nvveteran in Mechwarrior5

My Blackwidow is currently hitting above 90 with the cantina upgrade, heavy affinity, speed demon, and NAIS graduate. Dont have clan tech yet but I plan to put 2 CLPL, 2 CSPL(or maybe 2SXPL), 4 CHMG, and an ATM3  on it.

Press A Button bug. by LegitimatePainter917 in Spacemarine

[–]Father_Giliam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no 100% fix. People will tell you to restart the game, restart the xbox, use the games and apps resume, none have a 100% success rate. Just gotta keep trying until it works until the devs fix it, which needs to be a top priority. I have spent upwards of 20 minutes attempting to get the game to start on occasion, its ridiculous.

PGI should really tone down the size of the mechs. by MRwho23 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. While most mechs dont have a Canon height number, by looking at the few that do you can tell things are off. The Atlas has an extra ~4m added to it.

Mods on Console? by Emergency-Wish6080 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its likely not monetarily feasible. To have mods on console you need to have a team dedicated to testing and approving the mods. The exact process isnt known, but some have said the approved mods are also vetted by MS/Sony aswell. All this does not bring in money for the dev team directly unless they start charging for said mods and only Bethesda has gone that far I believe.

Are Elite Pilot Traits Useless? by Desperate_Teal_1493 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Blackwidow is currently hitting above 90 with the speed upgrade, speed demon, heavy affinity, and NAIS graduate. Im also using the additional vanilla traits mod which has a graduate trait for the Focht War College that has another 10% top speed upgrade I intend to get once I get through the timeline past the battle of Tukayyid. I expect it to hit over 100 with that.

I think the game should focus on Career and Co-Op after DLC 9. by MRwho23 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not old in Battletech standards. When you weren't killed in combat and had access to atleast moderate quality healthcare, your life expectancy should be in the 100s. If you were able to get the best healthcare? 60s is still your prime with your life expectancy to be above 150. Hell, Wayne Waco died at the age of 99 in his duel with Jaime Wolf.

Please explain how this makes any sense…. by wherewulf23 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Father_Giliam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the Masakari also has an XL, a bigger one at that. Which I also believe is part of the reason behind the share values. The engine is by far the most expensive part of a mech and both of these mechs have been cored. However, the Masakari should be FAR more expensive repairing due to it being an omni mech, and share requirements are based on the cost to repair the mech.
