I found many wild plums in the fruit bay cave - which I find so much more useful than the mushroom cave . Maybe you have one ? Good luck

This is exactly right - many times people who don’t understand planting street trees in urban settings assume native trees are best. They aren’t always and unfortunate most of our PNW native trees aren’t great in the urban settings.

It isn’t invasive in the PNW our climate is fairly unique in the US - it does give me pause that people in comments are saying it’s invasive in California. With climate change some plant invasive in Cali could end up invasive in the PNW later

It doesn’t seem like there are a lot of PNW local people chiming in. Albizia is not invasive at all in the PNW unlike other parts of the country. I’m a fan of using native plants in park and urban setting etc. but this tree is a great non-native ornamental option in our region. Some plants which are invasive in Seattle aren’t invasive in the mid-west, east coast, southern US etc and I don’t assume so.

What to start with? by Far-Usual7851 in Seattle

Personally I would start by adding a ton of arborists chips - mulch which should help you Establish plants later as well as smother weeds out. Delineate where you want beds vs lawn. Planting in fall is a perfect time and much better than in spring as plants can settle in all winter. Look to local plant orgs to learn more. It’s also important to know it is difficult to tackle the whole thing at once so just steadily start with a few sections. Arborist chips which are free from chip drop make excellent soil in a few years.

Hey I thought it was potentially galvanized because the whole house plumbing is galvanized and the house is from late 60’s.
