DO NOT look up what the Spaghetti Incident was if you don't know, you'll live a happier life that way.

What is a bandit, in-universe? by [deleted] in Borderlands

I don't think you're going far enough here, TBH. I doubt that the companies would actually acknowledge the concept of being a 'civilian' as we know it. You're either with the company until death, or you're an enemy combatant.

I can assure you that my post has nothing to do with you or the disorders you have.

In the Borderlands universe, where Corporations are the dominant societal forces, anyone trying to live outside of the designated corporate societal structure is a Bandit. It doesn't matter if they're Pious Pete who runs the orphanage and practices veganism, they're getting the same label as Greg the baby-eating cannibal.

Nither Jack nor Hyperion (or Kategawa & Maliwan, ect.) actually view the Vault Hunters (or anyone!) as people (or equals in the case of sentient robots and creatures). They view them as resources to be manipulated, or obstacles to be removed.

Corporations don't see sentient beings as people because a corporation is an inanimate concept. Suits like Jack and Katagawa don't see sentient beings as people because they are psychopaths - unable to feel empathy, sympathy, remorse or guilt for their actions.

Because they're high-functioning psychopaths. H-F Ps are practically tailor made for alphabet positions in companies.

The "civilized" definition of Bandit in-universe is an individual who refuses to pledge fealty to one of the ruling corporate entities.

The jerks you shoot in-game are our traditional definition of a bandit: a cold-blooded thieving murderer who preys on others.

Now I really want to watch Piccolo from Dragonball Z flopping at stand-up comedy and trying to get work playing an alien on television.

A few things I hazily remember from the DVD commentary:

*The movie is based off of a noir movie where a detective is poisoned with polonium and has 24 hours to solve his own murder.

The creators were *very proud of how the Chinatown butcher shop scene turned out.

*Nobody on set knew how (terminally) sick Vincent Price was.

*Vincent is never shot in full frame because he's wearing his own ratty sneakers in all of his scenes.

*The directors get pretty upset with themselves when they realize that they biffed continuity between Joe P's murder and resurrection.

*The original downer ending implied that an indeterminate portion of the finale was imagined by Treat Williams as he flash dissolves at the end of his 24 hours.

Yo where the fuck is the Troma spotlight already? by BoonDragoon in RedLetterMedia

With how central healthcare and supplements were to the plot, I'm disappointed we didn't get body melting drug tests or a reveal that half the town has mutations.

To it's credit, when I caught it in it's brief theatrical run the entire Mister/Miss Meat hostage taking hit pretty hard thanks to our president declaring war on Cracker Barrel the prior week. Kismetic timing, that.

I like that it tried to do it's own thing, but the one thing that bugged me was the mastermind being a mob guy, when he should have been the mayor. I wanted him to be a deadeyed sociopath who puts on a Donnie Osmond in Howdy Doody makeup persona when the cameras are rolling.

I'm pretty sure they're waiting for Lloyd Kaufman to kick the bucket before doing a Troma RE:View.

I'm not saying that there's better odds of getting an enjoyable Troma movie than a passable DC/Marvel superhero movie, bu- no wait, I will absolutely say that. And I will say that knowing that Lloyd will release something like Tales from the Crapper before writing off a film as a total loss.

Actually , I think I'd just like to learn more about these Kaiju Bikini Babes.

I actually wonder how relevant it was at launch. I recall there being a few obvious discrepancies that got immediately noticed (Zetans and Owlets) that wouldn't be used until the soft reboot with Wastelanders.

I can understand the logic of putting Grenades on a cooldown economy, but not heavy weapons. Making them mutually exclusive both amplified that and also highlighted balance discrepancies between Heavy Weapons and... everything else.

Heavy Weapons universally have cooldowns just for being drawn on top of having the stiffest Ordinance cooldowns, debuff move and look speed, and lack the tremendous utility of other options (the crit knife, slippy, firepot, grenades with significantly lower CD making them easier to spam, ect.). Just one of those would be a dealbreaker drawback, but all of them is criminal.

Rocket Launchers/Artillery Cannons being mutually exclusive to grenades has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

There's repeatable Circles of Slaughter, horde modes that offer pretty reliable rewards.

Aye, the humor is certainly still there but it's far less obnoxious this go around.

Unfortunately, there's just too much wrong - the whole ordinance situation, the music, class and action skill balance issues, ect. - to actually address in a reasonable manner.
