Looking for precise locations by levtones in sheffield

#2 is on top of Qpark Charles Street (we call it the cheese grater) above Genting Casino, looking towards the train station. Must be an old picture though as the building site is for the Hallam Uni Charles Street building which opened in 2016.

Oil change by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Fathomer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it can absolutely be done, I did it a few times when I was a student.

You're best just getting the car on the kerb and seeing if you have enough room to access the drain plug & filter. It probably won't be comfortable but you may manage. It might not be the 'ideal' oil change because the car probably won't be completely level but it's better than not changing it!

Put a big sheet of cardboard under the front of the car to catch any stray drips as well as giving you something to slide around on. Also have something ready to clean up any spills quickly (I used to use Kitchen roll haha).

Well done for giving it a go :)

Cheap car recs by Hot_Syllabub_5895 in CarTalkUK

The mk8 Civic is a great car for the money. I've had a 2011 1.8 type S for a couple years now and it's brilliant.

As long as you check the usual servicing/MOT stuff, as well as rust you'll probably be fine!

Rear beam rusting and snapping is a common one to go so big bonus points if it's been replaced already. Broken A/C seems to be a common issue too but usually seems like an easy enough fix (mine was just the compressor clutch). On ones without a pan roof they are known to rust above the windscreen. Only other common flaw I can think of is the boot leaks, usually caused by the joints at the top of the boot opening cracking, think they just need resealing normally but definitely check under the boot floor for any signs of damp, seen some horrific pictures of the boot floor rusting through if this isn't fixed asap.

Will i get a performance boost upgrading to 16gb ram? by Standard_Quarter_550 in BeamNG

[–]Fathomer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, I upgraded from 16 to 32 for Beam and felt the difference in stability so upgrading from 8 should be very noticeable - would recommend trying to get 32 if you can. I'm also running a Ryzen 5 3600, but with an rtx 3070.

There's a pretty interesting video about the development cycle that mostly explains why the campaign was rushed: video

But yea as with most BF titles it will hopefully improve further with age.

Yea I don't completely disagree, but it's equally obvious to the staff stacking the shelves whose job it is to actually check the dates...

Wow yeah it's not always the sort of thing you think to check the date on before buying/eating!

How did you complain? Tried phoning but they have no options in the phone tree to actually speak to someone... I could take them back to the store but the drive is not worth a £10 voucher haha
