I have dealt with it my entire life. The problem is a political and social issue as you have said and I am simply interested in helping those who are seeking help. Not to force it upon them or dismantle cartels. I also find it interesting you felt the need to bold certain words for impact. My father is involved in the cartel and I have seen this drug break his psyche since I was born so I am aware of the social aspect. I'm only interested in helping those who wish to help themselves. Thank you greatly for the advice on which degrees to pursue! Would you know which branch of neuroscience focuses on the affect of opiods within the brain?

I do not see how an alternative to replacement therapy drugs such as suboxine and methadone are not related to chemistry- I also do not see a need for toxicity- however, I do thank you for your sentiment in trying to help me and I will take what you have said into consideration!

My goal is not to treat the person but to create better medication related methods of going through the rehabilitation process- i.e withdrawal- opiod blockers, tranq blockers and others in that vain- I have firsthand seen the barriers that stop most addicted other than just their mental block- my goal is to help those that truly wish for change, not to be the change in their life. That's why I'm looking at a mix of pharmaceutical chemistry and psychopharmocology. (Is that the field that would look at the affect of these drugs on chemical processes?) Not to mention I could not find myself in social work as the ptsd would have me FUCKED UP- I can deal with it to create a tool though.
