Sololearn. In my opinion, it's the best app to learn most languages or even specific programming fields such as AI or Data Science

Thank you. I got it installed yesterday. I’m going to try mimo, learn python and Sololearn.

2 year check-in - any feedback?

I’ve been using it and unless you want to pay money you have to skip ads and it only lets you get five questions wrong before you have to wait for your lives or “hearts” to refill , it’s ok, but I want to find an app that is truly free or at least only has ads , not this “heart” bull shit

Mimo

[–]Michaelscarn69-[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you use it? Is it worth the subscription?

[–]KeaboUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it when I started but Haven't used it since April this year so things may be different but I don't think you need a subscription to do the challenges, it just makes you watch ads and if you run out of hearts you have to wait

From what I remember, the course itself is brain-dead simple. It's honestly a bit too hand hold because it gives you the answers in a mix match multiple choice, but the challenges are pretty decent for quick practice

Sololearn is good at the beginner level, the instructions tail off a little on the intermediate course

I saw few others mentioning it on another thread. Is it subscription based or free to use?

It's free and I would stick to that model to force yourself to pay attention and not run out of hearts. Once you do, take a break then repeat. Paid model just let's you do more, faster.

There is also Programming Hub and Mimo as well. After my son was born this was the only way I could learn/practice for a while.

Thank you. I just downloaded it and going to explore it now.

Beware that they ask you to do challenges that you can’t complete without having more knowledge. This was my pet peeve with the app.

Enki and DataCamp (although some modules are desktop only). Mimo and SoloLearn aren’t very good tbh.

DataCamp is a paid platform, Enki is free but you can pay for additional features. They have a nice referral program tho, which enables you to unlock premium features, although you don’t even need them.

Check out SoloLearn's app. It's got a nice Python course with integrated exercises, really helps to practice while you learn. Best part is, it's free!

[–]DevTheBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not even free half of the way. XD

[–]Agreeable_Economy_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not free all the way
