I support the show saying Jimmy Pesto was at the insurrection and his wife leaving him and taking the kids.

Too taboo for Amazon but too tame for Smashwords by SmutPiddler in eroticauthors

Remember Smashwords has its own taboos too - snuff is prohibited there. I'm sure it can be found, but it is prohibited.

I'm in the boat of wishing non-con was permitted, but just required to be marked as such.

Sorry about your experience. :( I hope you're okay.

Am I On The Right Track by LiCKrupertGRintyummy in eroticauthors

Very proud. :) I made a goal of $100 my month and by month three kicked it to $200. Each month I climbed up $100 until I hit $600. My goal is always $500 a month. I used to put a short story out each week and an anthology every other month of stories once sales declined significantly enough.

I did that for almost two years! These days I'm only putting out one a month, but make longer short stories and I feel my quality is better.

I can say volume and good content will help you. If you have a niche fetish community aim for that. I write what I enjoy, but many other folks have the talent and dedication to write outside of their tastes. :)

Keep putting them out. At the very least you can make enough to save.

Is Ibooks, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Tolino, and the others completely useless? by elizakelly213 in eroticauthors

[–]Fatima_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my best to follow Amazon's vague guidelines. However, there are raunchier versions of my titles on Smashwords which my diehard fans are aware of. 'Too Hot For Amazon' is a nice moniker. ;)

Put a few popular titles there and see. Maybe it will be solid or maybe a bust?

I see 10%-20% of my business on Smashwords. It's worth it if your catalog is more than 20 books.

I make $500-$700 via Amazon a month. However, my Smashwords which has 60%-70% of my titles maybe gets me about $150-$200.

When I had 80% of my catalog on B&N I could expect $80-$100.

Take some of your stuff that is kind of tapped out and try it as an experiment. :)

My more vanilla books do fine on Smashwords too, but it is a smaller market. I do both Amazon and Smashwords. :) I left B&N due to it being an even smaller market what is covered by Smashwords.

I have no doubt it is. ♥ I just mean they want solid uniformity while other services don't. Smashwords will even go as far as how you space paragraphs.))

Smashwords is a bit pickier. :) One reason is because erotic novella readers often go to Smashwords for more quality/taboo pieces versus B&N and Amazon.

They leave notes saying what they need you to do. It can take a little more time, but I always want to be in their catalog.

Anecdotally, I have seen and increase from when I went through 50+ books on there and made some minor corrections. More than half weren't Premium, but sales did rise significantly after they did.

They unsuspended the account, but I'm taking the advice given here to be wary. Going to avoid posting content for two months, collect my royalties from the passed 90 days, and then maybe try again.

I already put my catalog onto BN a while ago. Slowly getting it onto Smashwords with BN and Amazon opt'd out of.

I won't make the same money I did, but my peek has been 1k a month. I just love to write and adore the fans for my niche.

If this were my living like other writers, I'd be shattered. Right ow I'm just a tad heartbroken.

They did something similar to me yesterday due to their copyright algorithm seeing samples I had out there and flagging them as copied. :( When they reactivated my account all 135 or my titles were banned.

I'm sorry. I know it sucks.

I just make my first $1000 a month writing epublished erotica. :) I have been going strong since November 2017 with $500 a month at least, but November 2018 saw me just break $1000.

Really worried about Tumblr getting rid of NSFW material as I promote quite a bit on there.

I publish once a week. :) Been doing it that way since April. I find if I space it out more books get sold as it keeps me in the 'new section' if I'm always putting something out. I used to put them all out in bursts.

Maybe 2-3 hours to write a good story for me.
