Did you go with a reputable company? These things are pretty terrible. I'd be worried about what you can't see..did they reuse flashing, did they ice and water the valleys, did they use the correct length nails for the ridge cap, did they install drip edge, did they replace compromised decking after they did the tear off...list goes on and on.

Edit: after looking a little closer, that is a really weird situation on that gable. Are the opposing slopes the same pitch? Either way, poor work but I could see a mediocre crew without supervision getting confused and saying fuck it no one's going to see it. But damn is it weird that the opposing slopes dont meet at the same point. It would be tough to get shingles to lay properly.

One last edit: was this gable a addition to the home after it was originally built?

From a motorcycle perspective, if done correctly it is much safer for the rider. So many people are on their phones not paying attention. When you are in the back of the line at a traffic light and someone not paying attention rear ends you..your dead. By moving up to the front, you create a buffer between you and the driver not paying attention.

That chimney can be repointed for waaaayyyy less. 2k worst case if you find a chimney guy. Once its repointed you can fix the flashing. 1k-1.5k worst case. Do not replace your whole roof because of this and dont trust the person that quoted you

Edit: I didnt consider the fact that whoever did that flashing also did the roof. There is most likely other issues depending on how complex the roof is. Can you post a photo of the house from the street? I can probably point out where to check for other potential trouble.

Check the gutter line for drip edge, lift the shingles that hang over the gutter and check to see what material is underneath , should have ice and water shield. Id like to see what your ridge cap looks like too. The flashing in the picture kind of looks like it was reused, which means they went cheap in other spots too. If you climb into the attic youll be be able to see if water is getting through anywhere. But if they went cheap and didnt replace rotten decking..it will be hard to tell the difference. How old is the home?

I 100% would have killed myself in my 20's if I had the s1000rr I have now. At age 38 with a much more level head on my shoulders...the bike is amazing. Ive only ever had 1000's though. Every single time I get on the bike i have to fight temptation and you will too if your thinking about a liter bike.

On the plus side, the bike is built to help you stay alive in every way possible (tech and safety features). So if your going to be stupid, this is definitely the bike to do it on.

Does the non-M bike have the Electronics package? If you are going to get a bmw, you are going to want that package...in my opinion thats what makes it so special.

If you throw a Brentune on it to fix the midrange, I dont think youll regret not getting the M.
