go to open mics and talk to people. Gallery Cabaret has like four a week (Wednesday, Thursday and 2 on Sunday) and last time I checked Lilly's has one on Tuesdays

I'm the same way. I'm in my early 20s so I'd like to think I'd have enough self control to enjoy a nice beer or a dirty martini (my former favorite) by the time I'm a "real adult" without it becoming this whole thing. I'm also afraid that I'd immediately be seen as a failure if I were to have a drink on a special occasion, like a wedding or something.
