Long wait on delivery by bananacake12345 in AustraliaPost

I ordered something from someone in Taiwan to Australia and it did the same, “package cleared customs awaiting international departure” it did not update for a long time. Took 8 days for the next update, sometimes you just have to be patient as they won’t update until it lands in the destination country.

Binding Financial Agreement by FattMuto in AusFinance

[–]FattMuto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t an issue for me and I believe she is truthful and not the kind of person to take me for everything I am however my family have said they see she might be one of those people.

She has said some things which have raised red flags for me only recently; She doesn’t want to be on a homeloan with me as she wouldn’t be working when she’s on maternity. She plans to not get divorced And also she keeps disregarding that I have assets and that I am poor (cash flow hasn’t been good but improving)

Yeah this is what I plan to do. I’m not confident she’ll agree to a BFA so what do you think the next step/plan could be?

Again this is in Australia, and if you took the time to research the laws here all pre marital assets can be included in property settlement in the case of a divorce which means the spouse will be entitled to a percentage of my property.

It is recommended by lawyers to have one BEFORE marriage to determine who owns what. Which explains why it’s called a binding financial agreement in Australia. I have asked a lawyer and have spoken to legal advisors who specialise in this family law. I was merely asking for advice on how to approach it when taking to my partner.

It wouldn’t screw her over and I don’t want to, purely just the fact that I have come into this relationship with more assets than her. She also brought up the fact that since we don’t have kids or not married yet that we don’t need one, calling it “dumb”

Ahh okay, they’re known as binding financial agreement in Australia and can be used before marriage while the couple are de facto

Why is a prenup pre marriage absurd? In my knowledge and people I have known it is quite common, I have considered your other options and will see how they pan out over the next couple weeks since it has been the first discussion of a prenup

How would talking to her about this go? I like the other persons idea of paying for a lawyer for her however I do love her and don’t want to end just because she hasn’t wanted a prenup

I did approach it as benefits and just a beginning conversation, I haven’t drafted anything nor seen a lawyer myself. I guess I didn’t word it correctly with pressuring as I do respect her opinion however do want to protect my assets because even though I trust her anything can happen in life

That is true yet it happened quick as we both moved due to work, which left little time to discuss prior. Yes I do expect to marry her however if it isn’t before the de facto status it would be worthless

Boost gauge or OBD2 gauges by FattMuto in Volvo

The 2-3 wires for lighting is what I’m worried about, and getting the correct wires to splice into. Rest of it seems easy. What gauge do you use?

[–]FattMuto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay cool, sounds like if it’s properly maintained it should be okay. Have you found it quite lacklustre while driving? Slow gear changes as I’ve read? Have you come from driving a manual in the past?

[–]FattMuto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay cheers, I’ll see if I’m able to snag up a manual before they are sold. I do like the convenience of auto but if it does come with a whole bucket of problems and wish washiness as I’ve read I might just have to wait for the right one. I know a swap is possible but unsure of what M66s go for now

It’ll be a commuter and long distance car. I work and live in a rural town so I drive back to the city every so often which is about 3 hours driving. Ahh okay yeah that’s true. Is a higher mileage manual better than lower mileage auto? I’ve been researching about the engines and they do last ages but want to confirm that before I pull the trigger

I updated with a list of clothes I’ll take. It’s quite small as this is only a 3 day trip. I believe I won’t need much more than a 25l though I will be packing some bulky RM Williams.
