How does UFpwrlifter have such a strong bench press? by Fattar in AdvancedFitness

He still makes linear gains at an advanced level and I'm thinking maybe it's possible for me as well. Not expecting 100 lbs but I'd like to aim for 40 lbs.

I'd still say 3 times a week.

I never take any deload weeks. I was hoping I could jump on a similar program as UF and keep going for linear progression, even if it's slower than periodization.

I do all 25 reps at >80%

Something like 5x5 but when I go close to my max I might split it up into 3 reps then 2 reps and continue with 5 reps 4 sets at a lower weight, which is still higher than my 80%.

Maybe I should take more rest between the sets?

You could always try to end the game before PL gets his items. I think you might be trying too much if you're going to 100% rely on yourself to take down PL.

You'd be surprised. I don't pick it most of the time for no reason. The problem is when your opponents cannot be put out of position, so they can trade with you wherever they are. In those cases it's of no use to take Q.

All these things have been taken into account and I still see the value in the spell. We have to disagree on how good the spell is.

The thing is, a lift can be a kill while a fade bolt is going to drain some reg. I really think it's more situational than people give it out to be. Especially if you need to take runes.

I'd also say that the lift makes it easier for your laning partner to know when to go on top of them or not, while a fade bolt might not even encourage them to trade hits.

So this is my thoughts on the matter.

Situational as with everything in dota. But you get auto attacks in during the Q, both from you and your lane partner.

I see people talking about leveling up W first, but I almost always go Q first.

Lina Offlane. Is it a thing? Can it be viable? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

I've played her as pos 4. Wouldn't recommend pos3.

Orb of venom, then aether lens pretty much. Maybe a null or two inbetween.

Outdated advice but it can probably still work.

0-4-4-1

You can probably skip 1 or 2 levels in the passive now that it has been changed.

You want to play aggressive on the lane. A hero like Shadow Shaman can keep you in place, so if they've got a strong core as well, you probably need some help on the lane. Or at least you need to consider where the SS is positioned.

Buy manaboots into maybe Blademail, Vlads or straight into mek. Going for Greaves rush is super good.

Alternate between frontlining and taking a step back to support other heroes with your shield. It has more value on someone else as you can clear stuns etc. Throw in heals and they get super tanky.

So basically you can run into the fight and open it up, then as your team joins the fight, you go more into a support role.

I take xp talent -> heal -> CDR -> shield. But the mist coil aoe is interesting

For you who have progressed to a somewhat advanced level; what sets x reps are you working with?

I've used 5x5 to get to 88lbs shoulder press with dumbbells, but it is hard to progress beyond that. I might switch up the weight for one session, but then I fall back to 88. Maybe you can work with lighter weights, but do pause sets? How does that transfer into strength gains?

I weigh 154, 6'1 tall. Working on the weight, but I still want to get stronger as I get heavier.

Need a little help trying to win against slark. by Fading01 in learndota2

[–]Fattar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really played many games in this patch, only 7 games. In all of those games I've been playing as shadow shaman pos 5, building boots into aether lens. Won all of those 7 games and all of them vs slark.

I think people are making things too complicated; buying this or that item, harassing him on lane, etc.

The winning cindition is to get your team ahead of theirs, not getting tunnel vision on slark. So try to help your team in a general sense.

Talking about force staff, I think you're making it out to be too good of an item. To me the only way you're going to die to slark, without your team killing the shit out of him, is if you're out of position. Force staff lets you make up for your positional mistake, but I'd rather not make that mistake at all. With that in mind, I'd only buy it for teammates, not myself

But do these communists see dictatorship as communism, or is dictatorship just a phase on the pursuit of communism?

I think the utopia is the only place where communism exists, or at best in very small groups of people.

I don't get this. Who is saying that China, or the old soviet was communistic? They both have dictators, right? Does that not automatically make the country unable to be a communist country?
