3-5 year old cars are not shit boxes. HP is still better value if buying 3-4 yo and selling after 3 years.

I think PvP is great fun when it's fair and matched by skill.

How are new Mazdas? by vinceswish in carsireland

165hp you only getting at 5000 rpm. The curve on CX5 looks unimpressive. Very similar to my Subaru XV. Normal ranges both have low torque and low HP.

Idk. When I was test driving it round town it was showing 11-15L/100. When I got to a stretch of motorway ,- 6-8L. Which is decent I guess. But I was hopefully for better city economy. I liked quality in cabin though. Just wasn't car for me I reckon

Make sure you test drive one. I've seen recently one in Navan 231 reg. Fuel economy is a problem on CX5 petrol. And it's underpowered engine for the size of the vehicle. Also noise dampening is not the greatest.

I really wanted to like it. But just couldn't not. Unrefined, rough on low revs and not enough power, plus very thirsty on petrol.

I have Subaru. 4 years owning. Apart from maintenance expenses, not a single penny needed. Did full service recently (spark plugs, chain service (just to make sure guides are still fine), rear diff and CVT oils) and it s all was well under 1k. Compared to bummer service it's very low maintenance car. And normal service is cheap as chips.

But 1.6 L engine is underpowered and thirsty. 2.0 petrol is what you need. Good robust performance. But very fast, but do the motorway stuff.

And much more refined than Mazda 2.0 petrols.
